Ah! Noted!
On the subject of players scoring, how were the forwards today?

Nlundulu held it up well at times, but still has the annoying habit of trying to do too much with the ball at his feet - just trying to beat one man too many, trying one trick too many, rather than laying it off or hitting it.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 11:06 pmAh! Noted!

JDB made some intelligent runs, too few of which were found by his team-mates. Some good touches, and had a couple of efforts cleared off the line.
Jerome didn't have much to do, came on at a time when it had become attack vs defence but didn't do much to create opportunities - except for one he created for Solihull by heading the ball back across his own 6-yard box. Should have had a penalty, not sure how the ref didn't give it.
Charles should have had a hat-trick - his goal was arguably the hardest of the three chances presented to him. One shot scuffed at the keeper in the 6-yard box, one penalty missed. Carried the ball well in the final third.

Not sure that Dion appearing to laugh when their player got sent off was particularly classy.
People haven't got a good word for you, but i have T**T.

I’ve only seen the brief highlights, but it sounds like a relatively routine win and it’s nice to be in the second round again.
Optimal draws for me today would be Ramsgate or Maidstone away, or alternatively the easiest possible home game.
Worst draws would be any of our League One rivals away.

Be a bit hypocritical to pretend sympathy, surely, although over-doing it is wrong. . Such is the price of deliberate fouls. Dion gets fouled at every chance opponents get.knobpolisher wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 6:00 amNot sure that Dion appearing to laugh when their player got sent off was particularly classy.

Think I'd laugh too if I'd just been stamped on my ankle too. Regardless of opponent.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 11:17 amBe a bit hypocritical to pretend sympathy, surely, although over-doing it is wrong. . Such is the price of deliberate fouls. Their number 4 had been a knob all game though. Pretending to be injured, niggle against our guys, whinging to the ref demanding free kicks for minimal contact. Ref gave him a right bollocking in the first half to shut up. A lot of it was happening infront of the west stand where we were and he was being mocked by the crowd all the way through. In a generally mild tempered game all he seemed to just be a really angry little man. I’m not surprised Charles laughed at him when he got sent off.knobpolisher wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 6:00 amNot sure that Dion appearing to laugh when their player got sent off was particularly classy.

He’s the captain isn’t he? Which gives him more right to talk to the ref but clearly he overstepped the mark to earn a ref bollocking so clear that Iles mentioned it in the liveblog.
And he was on a yellow when he smashed into Dion in the last minute at 0-4, so yeah - very little sympathy. And I’m sure Dion won’t give a bat’s bollock about being unpopular with Solihull Moors.

It's Bolton vs. Harrogate Town in the FA Cup 2nd round at home.
Another fortunate draw and even better its against opposition we're not already playing this season.

Suspect he thought he could get away with that foul cos it was the last minute, make your mark on a league player scenario. Glad he got sent off! But the clip doesn’t give the context so Charles does look a nice person! Still, we’ve needed some nice people in our side for a long time, so when it’s our nice person it’s a

Not a thrilling draw, but a good opportunity to make the third round and hopefully get a money-spinner vs one of the big boys.

Just watching Crewe (who are now beating) Derby. Their left wingback Adebisi is quite exciting. Fast, strong, composed. Just got an excellent assist.

Pompey going out might not be good for the league. Fingers crossed it knocks them off their stride but could be just what they need to prevent fatigue and or injuries.

It’s been a while since they lost and it’s a heck of a way to lose. Let’s hope they wobble.

Also, Poole went off with an apparent hamstring strain, he's been the main man at the back for them this season.

Having watched it back, I cant for the life of me see what he was sent off for. Looked like more unfortunate play-acting from Dion. Something that he's getting a reputation forTANGODANCER wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 11:17 amBe a bit hypocritical to pretend sympathy, surely, although over-doing it is wrong. .
