No Gooseberries at Shrewbury. Away to Shrewsbury Tuesday 7th Nov 7-45.
Can the Super Whites maintain their high-flying form as they head for the 61 mile trip to New Meadow looking to grab another three points at Eighteenth placed Shrewsbury? Some weird scores are happening around Cup-wise and bananas are ever the flavour of the day, but this is League stuff, so take naught for granted and tame those Shrews. Get at it....

You'd have to suspect we'd be able to get three points.
The big consideration I'd suspect would be how we deal with the changing challenge level. We'd pretty much had it our own way against Solihull. I suspect against the Shrews they'll pose a stronger threat.
Weve done well lately overcoming adversity so hopefully any testing periods will be equally met.

I think it'll be back to his 'preferred' first 11 with replacements for injuries only.

Not sure what the preferred first back line would be. Jones - Santos - Toal I guess… Forester unlucky!

That's exactly what I would expect. I think Johnston would be ahead in the pecking order but he's unavailable.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 8:47 pmNot sure what the preferred first back line would be. Jones - Santos - Toal I guess… Forester unlucky!

They're somewhat goal-shy having scored 7 goals in 15 matches...

Last time we played the Shrews we were (according to reports)victims of long-throws and bullying in a 2-1 loss. No such thoughts can apply and need banishing and we need to be the aggressors and give them a taste of their own medicine. El Capitan was also missing injured for that game. Ideally we need to keep a couple of goals ahead and not try bus-parking as a solution. Play football and do it for ninety minutes. Violence is not the answer, but neither is caving in to bully boys. "Those who live by the sword" ,etc.
Go get em lads and keep the win-waggon rolling...

They’ve potted the manager since then I think.

Isn’t former Bolton man Matt Taylor their manager now?

Other than that, the only thing I really know about this incarnation of Shrewsbury is that ex-Bolton loanee Brandon Fleming currently plays for them. They also seem to have done quite well at home of late, so presumably this will be a tough match, but one we should probably be winning nonetheless.
Could this be another game where JDC shifts to the left and Jones starts on the right? I wouldn't rule it out, but think Evatt is more likely to go for Jones at RCB and Randy at LWB.
Midfield is the only other area where there are questions. I think a three of Thomason, Sheehan and Maghoma is most likely.
0-1 Bolton win.

It'll be Geth at RCB and one of Maghoma or Morley I reckon.

Ha! Just need one of our quick starts in that case as I think first goal wins it.

I think he'll play Maghoma - He refers to his resistance to the press which will be important for us and he really deserves a run in the team

Manager of 2nd placed Oxford Utd walks out to join Bristol City. Can only be good news for us.
In other news of the sort that I didn't know where else to put it, our away fixture vs Portsmouth is now a Monday night, live on Sky. Could be a top-of-the-table clash by then!
