On the pre-match preview from the podcast folks, they were saying how close some of their defeats had been, usually one goal in it and not really battered in the league. So I suspect this was a shock for the Exeter fans aswell. Even with their poor results in the cups.

Surely Caldwell's last game after this you'd have to imagine.

Looks like we've settled for the 7 goals, seeing out the clock.

Portsmouth lose 4-0, in their first defeat of the league season.
Oxford lose 2-0 and have a man sent off.
Bolton win 7-0 in a dominant performance.


Looks like a statement of intent in the league.

Biggest surprise of the day has got to be Rochdale losing to Gillingham. Given that neither team played the other and that both teams aren't in the same league and neither are in league one.
