Exeter looked reasonable decent for the first 30 mins. Then we stepped it up a gear and it was like the Man Utd U21 result all over again.

What a remarkable change in GD in just two hours. Well done Blackpool and Cheltenham.

Six different scorers, five different assisters

Definitely. It's the goal he needed for a good confidence boost.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2023 5:38 pmfecking hell that was mint! Never let up, kept wanting more

I'm fairly sure, this is the best first 17 games points tally in my lifetime. Although happy to be corrected..

Pity we're such a bunch of leader-less wimps who have no chance of promotion, and have such a shite, tactilely inept manager eh? Imagine where we'd be if we weren't.....

Should have been ten! Very unhappy.

On their forum they were all resigned to a pasting pre-match. Oxford fans on the other hand were right cocky bastards before today - hopefully the wheels are now coming off for them.Mar wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2023 4:57 pmOn the pre-match preview from the podcast folks, they were saying how close some of their defeats had been, usually one goal in it and not really battered in the league. So I suspect this was a shock for the Exeter fans aswell. Even with their poor results in the cups.
Surely Caldwell's last game after this you'd have to imagine.
Looks like we've settled for the 7 goals, seeing out the clock.

To be honest I'm keener to see Pompey's axles grind the tarmac.
Judging by pre-season expectations, Oxford massively overachieved under Manning, who's now left them in the lurch with a promising but untried manager; you imagine they're in for the sort of transitional period that rarely coincides with a 2ppg pace.
Pompey, though, are the interesting one. As I said before this game, they've lost arguably their second most important player (after Colby Bishop) in centre-back Regan Poole, to season-ending knee-knack; since then they've lost to non-leaguers in the FA Cup and conceded 6 goals in two league games. Their manager is also a thirtysomething first-timer (unless you include the Oxford gaffer's Mumbai City stint) so like I say it will be interesting to see how they react - and let's just mark this one down as "extremely promising for promotion rivals"...

Re: Beware of Grecians bearing gifts. Home v Exeter City, 25th Nov. 3-0'clock.
from @BWFCstats:
"Bolton have won eight consecutive games in all competitions for the first time since a run of nine through October and December 1990."
"Bolton have kept six successive clean sheets for only the fourth time in their history and first since doing so through January and February 1976."
"Since last conceding at Wycombe Wanderers on October 24, Ian Evatt's side have scored 20 times without reply."
"Jack Iredale’s goal was Bolton’s 50th of the season in what is just their 23rd game. It is the quickest they have reached this such milestone since 1964/65."
Also updating a previous one... To date, Bolton have scored 97 goals in 2023. They have only netted more than this on two prior occasions: 104 in 1934, 103 in 1993.
Oh and we already had (per @Playmakerstats) the most different goal scorers this season (top 4 tier teams; all comps; exc. OGs) with 18. That's now 20, thanks to Demps and Dan both coming on and setting each other up.
Some team, this.
