Iles keeps commenting on possibly two more out. Matheson on loan and the other permanent. He says that the permanent may get into tomorrow.

Think he said on the blog they were both B teamers.sonicthewhite wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 9:04 pmIles keeps commenting on possibly two more out. Matheson on loan and the other permanent. He says that the permanent may get into tomorrow.

Gut feeling is Morley for some reason.

Iles said one of the youngsters. I took that to mean one of the B's or youth team.

Oxford have signed Jay Matete on loan. Wasn't he one on Ghost's shopping list previously?

Another of Ghost's favourites, Przemyslaw Placheta, has signed for Swansea, ostensibly as Ogbeta's replacement.

Got excited reading the first half of this tweet…

Well four in during the window, all of seemingly decent quality. Was unsure if we'd've secured a few more, but I suspect our interest in Moxon may have cooled significantly in favour of Collins.
Don't know too much about Caleb Taylor, but i'm sure the backroom staff have done their due diligence. One of Ashworth's ex-team mates perhaps?
Still, Ogbeta and Ramsay seem decent with Collins looking to be the stand out signing that should help us move.
I often wonder if we started this season short of a few numbers to be able to better fund the Jan window with money saved on wage outlay.

Excellent signing for Cov, but loaning him back seems a bit pointless.

I think you're right. Perhaps it's the same Morley got another contract as well rather than us upgrading that position. Someone's got to be favoured and the other in the rotated squads or off the bench. It'd make sense to stick with what we have rather than splashing unnecessary cash on the likes of Moxon. It'll be interesting to see what impact he has on Pompey.

Feel a bit sad for Luke Matheson. Maybe (I dunno) they could loan him to Ireland or the National League but I would have hoped for a fourth-tier career-builder for him.

I think we just weren't prepared to pay for anyone who wouldn't improve us.
We did try to get two more in, so it wasn't intentional cost-cutting; but it's worked out.
Had everyone stayed fit and Wilson been signed which of these signings would we actually have made? Probably none. Maybe we'd still have done Collins, but moved Bod on?
Anyway, I thought it was interesting to hear Evatt say Collins would have been a summer target if we'd gone up. That strikes me as bang on. Let's hope we've done enough.

Interesting that Ennis pitched up at Stoke on a permanent deal which is I think what Blackburn wanted all along.
I think that for the supposed cost of that loan (and wages would have been big) it might end up being for the best.

Looks related to the fact Ty Campbell is likely to go in the summer. Stoke knocked back a bid and the Glasgow clubs are circling in the summer.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 8:01 amInteresting that Ennis pitched up at Stoke on a permanent deal which is I think what Blackburn wanted all along.

Seems sensible to get some cover up to speed before that happens.
I think everything has worked out for the best for all parties here. A rarity in footy.

Almost as if Blackburn were using our potential interest as a way of upping the price of their asset prior to sale.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 8:01 amInteresting that Ennis pitched up at Stoke on a permanent deal which is I think what Blackburn wanted all along.

I think the club have done it again and struck a really decent balance. Morale is important and I doubt there isn't one player that thinks they can't get into the side. The fans are onside as questions have been answered.
It looks like we have the tools to keep the upward trend.
COYWM!!!!
P.s. The gut feeling disappeared overnight, must've been wind.
