Tall dark strangers at the door. At home to Burton Albion New Years Day 3-0 clock

Post by TANGODANCER » Sat Dec 30, 2023 6:45 pm

Or so the age-old tradition saying says. Well, come in lads and a Happy New Year to you although that bit we reserve for us. We leave the Old Year on a song, but should Old Acquaintance be forgot, our record against these particular strangers ain't the best. Time to put that statistic right then and start our New Year with a bang. Burton are idling just below mid-table but have won their last two games, so caution is needed. Let's give them a rousing welcome to 2024. Up and at em.. :Jedi:

Evatt will want to start 2024 with a statement performance, but some players will be knackered.

Hopefully we can have a big push and finish the festive period on a massive high with 4 from 4, ready for a cup upset and then a local derby.

I assume you mean Accy in the Sherpa Van, which has pushed Wigan back to late Feb...

Yup. Will be giving that match every "big up" I can until kick off. Loved Wembley with the lad and want to go back this year.

These horrible c*nts have turned a corner since parting with the no mark they had in charge. Every fecking time they turn up they make it awkward. Be very happy with another 1-0, though it’s about time we smashed them.

They can stand up and be counted, otherwise there'll be calls for Karl Henry...

I'm with you mate. Any three points will do.

Burton will be well aware of our history and look to beat us here. All we have to remember is that history is yesterday. Just play as we do and we'll win. This is Bolton 2024... :Jedi:

Start the New Year with a bang. Come on; minds on the task. Beat Burton Albion. Don't matter which Whites team we send out, get the job done. New Year starts at 4.45 on Day One of 2024.

Ah Great Smiley posting storymode telling very great TANGODANCER!!!

Oh cool I checked table two points behind but game in hand
The League One game here tonight shown is 4th vs 3rd plus about four Championship games as well

Nothing against The Brewers Burton Albion but hopefully they lose to two different Wanderers in a week then start winning themselves (they play Wycombe next)

Cmon Bolton Clean Sheet & a Few Goals Scored starting from 11 hours from now!

Surprisingly big game for a midseasoner against Burton.

Cup games mean we go another game in hand over the weekend, so winning today may be important psychologically. Lose today and we could find ourselves 8 points adrift by our next league game. Obviously winning gives us a chance to go top, which would put real pressure on Pompey at the weekend too.

Weird one with a huge potential spread of outcomes.

All we can do is smash them and see what others do.

Also a big game Derby v Peterborough which is certainly in our favour should we win.

Rest of the top 5 play each other. Win today would be big big big.

Our lack of depth and vulnerability to injuries suddenly becoming apparent.
