I could only try out the couch for the second half, but seemed to hold up well once I joined. Nothing to worry about at all with those springs...DJBlu wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 7:04 pmHowdy all,
I'm trying a different style of spring in the couch tonight. I really would appreciate if those who have a key to the door could jump on it for the first ten minutes of the game to see if it holds up to the extra weight.
If it holds then the rest of the season will be a doddle.
Cheers.
Thanking you for the hospitality.....

Peaked at 16 sat down which is probably 20% capacity. Was using something different tonight and it looks like it held up.dave the minion wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 9:37 pmI could only try out the couch for the second half, but seemed to hold up well once I joined. It was a slightly ragged performance at times but we did the job.
I’d say it shows that we are short in key areas if we get the wrong injuries at the wrong time. Not sure it’s anything we don’t know.
Lot of games to come if we keep winning.

Agree with this. Both WBs felt like they need defensive improvement. Matheson did more decent stuff going forwards.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 10:25 pmIt was a slightly ragged performance at times but we did the job.

Difficult to judge Coleman as the defensive game overall wasn't as solid as it usually is.
Maghoma, I think could use a bit more consistency, he disappears occasionally then pops us and beats three.
Thought both forwards put in an honest night's work, but I'd be less confident of them scoring against a decent L1 defence. Hopefully Jerome's well taken goal gets him some confidence back.
The others I thought were generally decent. We felt defensively better down our right, than our left. Thought Forrester played decent.
Great goal from Demps.

Could Karl Henry pass it like Tomo can?Worthy4England wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 6:47 pmAfter the moral high ground in the transfer thread about "no thanks to walking yellow cards," I can confirm that in 1,807 minutes so far this season, GT is just one yellow shy, of Karl H's season total in 2017/18 in 2,838 minutes...

In other games, Blackpool beat Burton and Posh had their home game with Crawley called off due to a frozen pitch due to them being tin-pot.
So our next opponents could be Blackpool, Bradford or Donny/Wigan (who play next week).
Southern half: Wycombe, AFC Wimbledon, Brighton U21, Posh/Crawley.

Not fussed who we get.
Two games to Wembley. Only 5 FA Cup games until our second Wembley.
What a domestic treble this will be.
Imagine next season when teams have to walk out to face us with those three trophies on the pitch, like they did with City. The intimidation factor of the Bristol Street Motors Trophy staring them in their faces.
"3rd tier domestic treble, you'll never sing that!"
Marvelous.

If we don't go up (blasphemer etc) yet win the FA cup (dream big) that would be a whole new level of fixture congestion. Having to rearrange a trip to Atletico Madrid because we have to play Grismby away in the group stages sounds mildly amusing though.

I wouldn't swap going up for another EFL Trophy, but I 100% would for an FA Cup. Fixture congestion be damned.KeyserSoze wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 6:03 amIf we don't go up (blasphemer etc) yet win the FA cup (dream big) that would be a whole new level of fixture congestion. Couple of points:
Bit surprised in a cup game but going off crowd turn-out, it might appear Accrington didn't hold much hope of beating us? The lousy weather wouldn't have helped, but a home game against the mighty Whites should surely have been appealing? Apparently not.
I thought Dempsey, great goal aside, was a constant nuisance to their defence. He's a real asset and one we must keep hold of. Likewise Sheean. Maghoma, I'll admit, seems a bit indifferent at times and is a bit too laid back, especially at throw-ins but I'm sure I.E. will have noticed and address that. DadBod seemed a bit easily brushed off the ball at times and I think Dion wold have had a field day against that lot.
Finally, what constitutes a foul is getting way beyond me. Pushing and shoving players with the hands , shirt-pulling and dragging, and blatantly playing leap-frog on players backs all seem acceptable to some refs. I reckon the rules need a review.
That's it...

Worked the best I've experienced on the couch. Bit of a blip on 29 minutes, but a reload and I was sat down again with a cold beverage Thanks DJ, it is much appreciated.DJBlu wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 10:15 pmPeaked at 16 sat down which is probably 20% capacity. Last night's goals, for those (like me) who missed the game
Re: Seconds out, Round three. V Accringston away Wed, 10th Jan 7-30
Game might be worth a rewatch for you on wanderers tv. Highlighted some of our best moments and our more questionable moments and offered quite the insight into our squad depth for the rest of the season. Also had the rarity of Jerome starting and the JDB / Jerome combo that we've not seen before. The game wasn't boring, but it wasn't smooth sailing either.

Interesting you say so, but I have neither the time nor the Wanderers TV accountMar wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 12:43 am

I was annoyed when I realised I'd miss the game, as I wanted to watch the squaddies, particularly the wingbacks
I'm just glad they got some gametime because they need it, and we need them
