Sometimes the only media that matters is that of our own. A very touching tribute by our club.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 12:29 pmThe meddling media have really cast a shadow over this sad event and no doubt added insult to injury for the poor guy's family. The fans are really up in arms if the B.N comments are anything to go by. Personally, I wish they'd play it down for the family's sake as the issue is about tragedy rather then anger. The Sun will no doubt come out smiling of roses as ever due to publicity. Just don't buy or read it is the best answer.

Re: Under Starters Orders. At Home to Cheltenham Sat 13th Jan 3-0 clock.
So tomorrow's Luton game is the first of at least five successive midweekers.
The one after that is earmarked for the EFLT semi; if we beat Blackpool it would then link up another run of three (Wigan A, Barnsley A and Oxford H) to make nine successive midweeks.
The one after THAT lot is the start of an international break. But if we keep winning cup games, it may be that we face a decision: host Shrewsbury with a side weakened by international absences, or play a four-game week? Plenty of ifs before then, but it's a thought. Long may we keep winning....

No rest for the wicked. Presumably if we progress against Luton, that'll move even more of our League One fixtures into the midweek space.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 5:10 pmSo tomorrow's Luton game is the first of at least five successive midweekers.

Sometimes its good to go two games a week and get into the flow. We had a good run of those during the Bakayoko days. I'm hoping we get into the flow of doing just enough to get a run of successive runs over and over, but that'll be easier said than done.
I'm not one for sacrificing the cups to ease the burden, I think that would be more demoralising than progressing.

Yeah, the Jan 27 trip to Carlisle would be rescheduled. Were we then to beat Palace or Everton, we'd have to re-reorganise the trip to Wigan, currently in the Feb 27 midweek slot allotted to the FA Cup Fifth Round.
As I said before, pros and cons. Winning is a great habit and it allows for squad rotation when you've got more (good) players than you can fit in one side. But there'll always be some players you want to pick in every game - like the two named in the popular song about being "exactly what we need" – so it's then about the sports scientists being empowered to monitor and suggest selection strategies, the manager being humble enough to take the advice – and the replacements being good enough to trust.Mar wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 5:32 pmSometimes its good to go two games a week and get into the flow. It's already starting, to an extent, with Randell being rested at the weekend so he had more chance of facing Luton.

Burton agreed to rearrange their fixture with Cheltenham to facilitate our game. Not sure why but if they have done it to assist, fair play and thank you.

Someone died. Ben Robinson will care about that, or so his rep goes. Could well see it just being Burton doing the decent thing.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 6:47 pmBurton agreed to rearrange their fixture with Cheltenham to facilitate our game. To add to that, any rearranged fixtures would be getting ever closer to the international weekend (18-26 March 2024).Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 5:42 pmYeah, the Jan 27 trip to Carlisle would be rescheduled. The couch is comfortable and has a view of Pride park if you know what I mean.

I'm watching it on Sky at the minute. Derby's right side is easily the best in the division. Burton are really struggling.

I was up off the couch for that one. What a tidy finish.knobpolisher wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 9:26 pmJust got comfy on the couch and Burton equalise with a breakaway.
Steve Seddon is putting in a MotM display right now. Goal, assist and goal-saving blocks.
