Definitely would seem to be. They'll get docked points for that surely and head further towards another relegation.knobpolisher wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 4:34 pmReading match abandoned, I fear they are in deep trouble

BBC really are knobpolishers.
In some quarters the match us down as abandoned in others it's postponed. Surely if its started it can't be postponed.

A few outlets reported same thing. Must be a press association thing rather than BBC error per se.knobpolisher wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 4:52 pmBBC really are knobpolishers.

There's select drop downs for the media guys to pick from. Doesn't mean they're wrong, just more a case of not being able to represent accurately whats happening. Can't imagine whoever is selecting wants it to be reported like that given the severity of whats happened.knobpolisher wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 4:52 pmBBC really are knobpolishers.

Looking of the bright side, there might be some rivals thinking we're going to get docked...

Yeah that is pretty ridiculous. Possibly some guy in the office getting wind and putting the same thing down instead of Reading.knobpolisher wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 5:02 pmThe fact it says crowd trouble got me.Mar wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 4:57 pmThere's select drop downs for the media guys to pick from. Five of the six teams below us at kick-off all won, and the other (Derby) could leapfrog us - like Posh have - if they win on Monday. But it's still a good day of results because Pompey lost.
It's in our hands. Only team averaging above 2ppg

That was a difficult thing to talk a kid through, I must say. I sincerely hope the guy recovers, but it looked like worst case scenario as they were leaving.
It comes off as trite to discuss the footy after that, but what else do you do? Pompey are falling to bits and Posh gave us a head start. We played poorly today, but we are in a very strong position going forward.
Orient is going to be a major test after a midweek cup game. If we can win it it'll be a genuinely massive result. We can afford two slips now, though.

Yeah, not good. Fingers crossed for the chap.
On the footie, we could do with a graceful fa cup exit now on Tuesday.

What would Bruce Rioch say?officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 7:34 pmYeah, not good. Fingers crossed for the chap.

Someone was saying something along the lines of - if we got to the FA Cup Fifth Round + Wembley in the Sherpa, we'd be playing every midweek bar the international break. Haven't the time or energy to check that but a rearranged game does add to the pile-up. However, it's not necessarily bad to push them down the line to when we might have Geth back, CMG assimilated and a new face or two....

CMG on the bench. They're already 1 down, 4 minutes in...he might be back quicker and fresher than Geth.

Don't think many gave them a prayer, really. Just hope he enjoys himself and doesn't get injured.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 8:21 pmCMG on the bench. They're already 1 down, 4 minutes in...he might be back quicker and fresher than Geth.

Sad day for the club. No matter who it is it's one of our own. Hoping there is good news coming.
This is the first game I've recorded live this season and I've just had a look to see the timings of suff as the club have the incident on the 30th minute and I thought it was earlier. Irrelivant I know but it's in the 28th minute the game is stopped by the referee.
Big shout to Josh Sheehan and Cheltenham's CB who spot the comotion and alert the referee. Jack Iredale also gestures to the linesman who was unaware of the situation. From that moment the seriousness is evident as there are lots of people asking for help.
I'm hearing that there was an off duty fireman who started CPR immedietely along with a match photographer.
Praying that the person makes a full recovery as I can't imagine what their family must be going through.
If there is a positive outcome then I think the club needs to get that fireman a pie and a bovril.
Keeping everything crossed.

Heard that the incident had been snapped by photographers from daily star and daily mirror so thought I'd go and check the nature of the article and the pictures.
Picture doesn't show anything other than stewards stood around, but I thought it was a bit rich when the cookie notice popped up saying 'we respect your privacy'. Scumbags, taking pictures of the near dead and posting them online to get clicks isn't respecting anyone's privacy, no matter what the cookie policy would have us believe.

I doubt their cookie policy relates to general privacy. Only cookies, and and I suspect that you need to read it along the lines of "We respect your privacy [only to the extent that you had a few options, the most limited of which allowed you to restrict the list of places we could share cookie data, from "lots of places" to "a few less"]
