"Evatt just gone up to speak to Sharon Brittan, probs to decide" says mate at the ground

There's a few considerations to be had here. The main one being the fan in the crowd, but those around him, impact on the rest of the fans, the players, whether we've got enough police coverage, etc.DJBlu wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 3:55 pmCousin in Nat Lofthouse upper said CPR was continuing when they went out on the stretcher.Mar wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 3:52 pmPeterborough leapfrogging us in the league as it stands.
Spectator on his way to an ambulance surely. Fingers crossed they're okay.
I'd imagine that this match is likely to get back underway if the supporter has left the stadium in an ambulance.
I'd hope the club is gauging the impact on the fans in the near proximity. Might be a few unsettling moments for some fans there.
Personally wouldn't be surprised if it's abandoned.
Can anyone remember any other previous medical emergencies in the ground that impacted the game?
The only one that springs to my mind is the Khalilou Fadiga pre-match irregular heartbeat prior to the Spurs Carling Cup Fixture.

I accept its a serious incident with best wishes to the supporter concerned but I'm not convinced calling off the match is the correct decision.

Pompey game is on the couch if people would like to watch the second half.

Re: Under Starters Orders. At Home to Cheltenham Sat 13th Jan 3-0 clock.
Can put that on the couch if people would prefer?

For that select block of fans it's likely the right call. Hard to concentrate on the match when you've got that experience floating about in your mind.knobpolisher wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 4:06 pmI accept its a serious incident with best wishes to the supporter concerned but I'm not convinced calling off the match is the correct decision.
I think it's probably the right call, look after the fans first.
It's frustrating as we've got another game to play catch up. It'll no doubt have an impact with fixture congestion.

Is there a precedent here?
Would it be a full replay?

I would say being in the ground it was the only decision. Nobody wanted a game of football after that.knobpolisher wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 4:06 pmI accept its a serious incident with best wishes to the supporter concerned but I'm not convinced calling off the match is the correct decision.

Fair comment mate, on a sad day like today a glimmer of positivity is that other scores are going our way.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 4:24 pmI would say being in the ground it was the only decision. There's always the possibility we'll be leapfrogged by Derby on Monday but that doesn't matter all that much given the number of games we've got in hand.knobpolisher wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 4:27 pmFair comment mate, on a sad day like today a glimmer of positivity is that other scores are going our way.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 4:24 pmI would say being in the ground it was the only decision.
