To be continued. Home to Cheltenham, Tues Jan 23rd , 7-45.

Always in mind of the reason for this postponed tragedy, we must look forward and onwards and get back into the saddle to welcome Cheltenham to see the Burnden Aces in action. Yesterday is history, today is still a mystery as we try to banish he bad dream of our form slump of Saturday. Let's remember we aren't playing polished Premier foes like Luton and get back to the reality of rough and tough League One. Ricardo's blip and Dion's shamrock shambles cost us the game and that's a fact despite the superiority of an organised and well-drilled Orient side. Just one goal was the difference.

Neither Ric or Dion are likely to repeat blunders as both are good players, so stand up, dust off and sally forth. A win will soon banish bad memories, so do it lads... :Jedi: .

The opening 20 minutes of the postponed game was a reminder that these are no mugs. 2 clear chances they had - 1 skewed wide from a few yards out and a good save from Baxter. We, on the other hand, couldn't find teammates and were harried into mistakes.

I'd go Sheehan, Maghoma, Thomason in midfield with Dion and Jon up front. We need to keep the ball much better than we have done in the last match and a bit in the league
"I've got the ball now. It's a bit worn, but I've got it"

Yup. We were dreadful and looked like we might be putting in another Carlisle performance.

We lifted ourselves for Luton and then crashed again.

If we start poorly the crowd will probably be horrible to play in front of.

There will be a mass outbreak of "muttering and tutting."

We have the best home record in the division. As near as damn it to a 70% win rate. However, we've also lost nearly 25%. There's a solitary draw in there too.

The crowd has been better this season, but there's still a nervousness when anything goes wrong.

We tend to start slowly. That probably won't do tomorrow.

Two early goals and smiles will return. Wonder if the current weather will affect things?

Reminds me, it's been years since I heard the song

It was a regular feature, sadly, in the early 80s.

Our home crowd is pretty quiet. Its also incredibly tame.

You go to other grounds round the country and hear what they are like when things aren't going their way and honestly Bolton is one of the nicest crowds you can play in front of if you are struggling.

All true.

It won't change organically. The club needs to take action.

There's a group of women at the north end of the east lower who actively tell anyone chanting to shut up.

Wouldn't mind lobbing a whole packet of sweets that way.

We'll shit em, 4 nil. Dion hat trick and a penalty won by Jerome which Morley will convert.

On a serious note. I'd be starting Williams on the left.

Not too sure about the 4-0, but i'm equally keen on us starting Williams on the left.

Time for us to get out the first choice team, first choice strategy and clear plan with subs. None of this lets try Ashworth at the back because he faired well against Luton, Accrington and Burton. We've not looking convincing on that side since he's come into the team and we can't be carrying players if the first choice is available.

That being said, last match was more the drop off of everyone in the team rather than just Ashworth. Ashworth's understandably cover for Williams and is still learning, so I think its more a case of he needs time to learn rather than expecting too much too soon.

I'm back to the point where we reached a little while ago against Leyton Orient (H) where it was the performance that mattered most. We've had a blip of performances lately, struggled against Cheltenham in the cancelled result, struggled against Leyton Orient and lost to Luton, expectedly so. In that time, it's felt like we've lost our way a tad, but the reality of the situation is, we've only lost one league match. League form is still 4 wins in the last 5, putting in some good performances against Cheltenham and Carlisle will go a long way towards rectifying a small blip.

Swings and roundabouts. We might not be the most vocal but that timidity likely helps us get through tricky patches. Others may be louder but also more impatient.

And, for what it's worth, I think we're pretty capable of creating a big enough roar when conditions are ripe for it. The style of football Evatt has us playing typically results in us having a large degree of control though, and dominating possession while while trying to prise out an opening doesn't lend itself to a raucous atmosphere.

Not a criticism in the slightest, just a natural consequence.

I think Williams and Maghoma in, Dempsey and Ashworth out. I think that’s our best side. One thing I noticed on Saturday was they put Iredale up for interviews - thought Rico might step up for that. Needs a big performance from him Tuesday, show some leadership.

Dan Barnes, Bolton News is indicating he thinks Bod and Charles will be the front gunners with Dempsey in front of a three defence?
