A Load of Cobblers. Away to Northampton Sat, 10th Feb.3-0'clock.

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

Haven't heard if it's been overturned. I suspect the clubs should know by now and if they don't know then surely that impacts ourselves and Wycombe.

Imagine trying to plan ahead and finding out at the 11th hour.

Perhaps the clubs know but are keeping it quiet to save from fan backlash either way against ref decisions.

Would've thought word would've got out by now.
We announce the team 1 hour before kick-off. There's no guarantee Thommo would be in it, in any event, so presumably Managers have more than one possible plan anyhow. As for fan backlash, I suspect that's not a consideration either way.

I was suggesting that it's easier for the FA to deliver contentious news when there's additional distractions in place, it makes sense from a management point of view to down play the severity of bad refereeing decisions (in the event of it being overturned) or supported refereeing decisions (in the event of it being upheld).

Regardless of whether Thomason is included, I would've thought it would've come out in the press already whether he's eligible.

It's just a.procedural appeal against a red card. I doubt anyone's in "crisis management" mode. The FA will care little, they meet, they uphold some decisions or overturn others as you say. I doubt they wait for Sky News Breaking News banner to pop up, before announcing a L1 player has had his dismissal upheld/overturned...

Is there another camera angle that shows something different to the wanderersTV one, because otherwise there's no point in even attempting to get it overturned.

I believe we are using the 4th officials account as part of the defence. "I didn't think it was a red card" and "I didn't hear Ian swearing"

Agreed, I don't think there's anything untoward happening, and I suspect it would be par for the course. Doubt we'd get as far as a breaking news banner popping up, small fries being what we are.

It’s not being overturned - it’s just a pointless appeal anyway. Evatt would know when we put it in there was zero chance of it being overturned.

Harsh decisions or whatever aren’t overturned. It has to be a big error.

Does the frivolous appeals penalty still apply?

We’ll find out later I guess? No surprises in the outcome…and he’ll have watched a couple of players go ahead of him in the pecking order tonight…

With Evatt's red, it seems to me that the 4th official has told the ref he's ballsed up and is now going to have Evatt in his ear for the rest of the match,. The easiest thing for the ref to help his assistant there, is to stick Evatt in the stands
"I've got the ball now. It's a bit worn, but I've got it"

I see the FA have countered Evatts appeal with a charge, suspect he’s at risk of a longer ban.

And they've assigned the prick that sends off a Bolton player every time he refs us for our next game.

Cheers.

The timing of that assignment makes it look spiteful.
