A Load of Cobblers. Away to Northampton Sat, 10th Feb.3-0'clock.

CMG, Iredale, JDC, Ogbeta, Bod and Collins all start on Tuesday for me.
Don't forget Baxter

I think we'll all feel better if Baxter's playing too. Coleman may not be a total bust but dear me there were some incidents.

TBF I think we could "rotate" a fair few of them and nobody could object.

If we appeal that red I think I'll be outraged. He was off the floor with his foot towards McGowan's ankle.
Yeah. Ref got a whole lot wrong but that one he got right.

Are they talking about appealing the red card? George will potentially end up with another game added on? He owes us at least a months wages for the amount of games his idiocy has seen him miss. He’s the new Josh vela.
Edit - it’s 8 games he’s missed. Nearly two months worth. Two months wages to sit on his arse…

I'd like to see Rico, JDC and or Forrester in the squad, sooner rather than later.

Think Evatt is still raging so we'll not know until tomorrow or Monday. He's sent Peter out to do the interviews.

Rico doesn’t want risking until he’s fully ready. We need him for the run in.

By the sounds of things, it might be Evatt’s red that is being questioned. Camp are denying “foul and abusive language” according to Iles. Having sat behind him, where officials are concerned, it’s not as though he seeps his The Secret mantra in velvety, comehither whispers.

One of Evatt's favourite phrases is "hard work puts you where good luck can find you". He and his hot-headed midfielder might want to reflect that idiocy can put you where bad luck can find you.

With a ref this demonstrably stupid, the player shouldn't be lunging in studs-first with both feet off the floor – and the manager shouldn't be giving the same whistle-botherer the chance to double his wankerosity; whether or not Evatt swore, I can believe he was in the ref's face.

Ramsey is a million miles off a league one wing back. Might be a right back. But asking way too much of him. Ashworth looks more like a very good LB to me. Taylor, Toal and Jones were shocking as a back three. Let’s be honest we play a back three because Santos isn’t any good in a back four. But without him…..Jones, Toal, Taylor Ashworth is a good back four.

I don’t think there is any reason to carry on with three at the back at least for the next few.
It's an interesting thought. Not least as I thought the worst part of that back thre was that Toal and Taylor played like total strangers.

We should also note that Geth - who had a weird game all round - was playing a strange hybrid role, half RCB and half RWB with Mendes Gomes ahead of him as more of a winger than a wingback. That's fine, summat's gotta happen when your hothead mate's left you a man down with an hour to play.

One problem with a back four is that it tends to lead to one up top. Who's that, then?
Front three for me. Dion up the middle. CMG and Ogbeta/Cogley

Collin’s off the bench. Bod or Vic off the bench.

Got to say I cheered quite a bit when we equalised. A good feeling.

Thank you for the couch. I tried to watch in the Beer School in Howfen—poor wifi. Got home, opened it up, and, that second, we scored. Made my Saturday, Blu. Thanks again.

"It is a truth universally accepted (as Jane Austen might say)..that a neutral observer of the day's scores, sees only them and naught else. Not one fact goes into the why's and were-fore's of how said score was achieved, who scored them or how many men were sent off or if the the referee was good or bad. . You either won, drew or lost as to where on the ladder you are, and William Hill and co can take the rest.

We talk mightily about promotion, but all said, we still don't know how adapt our game to play teams. Today, Northampton only came forth when we let them by retreating. Their only idea was to welly the ball in the direction of our box all game (or at least three-quarters of it) and try to pressure us into the net. Goal kicks, long throws and crosses all caused mayhem to our defence, ten-man though it be. It's pointless (pardon the pun) to dwell on near-misses, kamikaze blocks or just sheer bad finishing. When guys blatantly miss efforts of the type we see, they are are inexcusable (I can recall about six in the last couple of months) and our promotion talk is just the brave music of distant drums. Not pessimism, just the truth.

Right then, up Rivington Pike at the double with a rucksack full of cobble-stones and get set for a visit from the other Wanderers. :oyea: :oyea:

I missed the game in its entirety and plan on watching it back. I'm hoping theres enough in it to warrant a watch. Takes away a significant chunk of the excitement watching it not live so I'm hoping it's fighting spirit rather than a Carlisle collapse.

Been out all day, but seems like a half-decent point given the circumstances?

First game I’ve gone to this season (I know, I know, #shitfan). I won’t dwell on the opening 45 as it was woeful, but the second half the 10 lads on the pitch smart enough not to go lunging in studs up, stood up and played with real heart and desire - was very pleasing to see.

Side note: a bit embarrassing for a Northampton team still with a half chance chance of making the playoffs to be playing for a draw at home against a team down to ten men.

Anyone see Caleb go over to one of our fans at the end? If so anyone know why?
I didn’t see that, but there was an odd interaction between Collins and Sheehan at the end, with Sheehan grabbing/swatting Collins’ hand away and then pointing to the away fans as if to say “go and clap them properly”. Some heated words and looks then appeared to be exchanged.
