I don’t think the fanbase can cope with another meek surrender against a local rival either, I know I can’t! Deffo need to do something different. A change in formation or something.

It’s where good managers change it, find something fresh and get results.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 5:22 pmI don’t think the fanbase can cope with another meek surrender against a local rival either, I know I can’t! Allardyce, Rioch, Parky - they all knew how to see when things have fallen off the rails and find a fresh way.
We’ve been crying out for weeks.
Tuesday is last chance saloon.

62% possession. 3 on target. Blackpool managed 8. More than double. So let’s not blame the referee or whatever and actually address what’s been going wrong for us for the past few months. Address it and fix it and sort it.
Re: North by North West. Away to Blackpool Sat 24th Feb, 3-0'clock
Can anyone remember the last time we had a one sided ref and came away with a decent result?
Seems like the bad refereeing coincides with us dropping points rather than us upsetting the odds in spite of a referee.
I'm expecting Evatt to take another quiet stance towards refereeing incompetence. Clearly speaking up against it isn't doing us many favours.

WTAF!? Was it as sh1t as the scoreline suggests?
Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!

Let's just say the ref had a good time.

Team I’d play at Wigan….
Coleman
Jones
Toal
Iredale
Ashworth
Dempsey
Thomason (if fit)
Maghoma
Vic
Charles
CMG
Front three. Vic on the left. Play up to him. Win second balls. Play from there. Bring CMG into the game cutting in from the right.
Compact and simplify the game.

Evatt thinks we played well second half. I’m lost for words……

That'll be media training for you. Sometimes you've got to polish a turd as the alternative is less helpful for long term aims.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 6:23 pmEvatt thinks we played well second half. I’m lost for words……

Watching post match stuff. I’d make Thomason captain. What a superb young man he is. Takes full responsibility for his sending off talks about self reflection and learning. Not looking for excuses or anything else.
Sometimes people just get it and for me he is one who does.
On a bad day - he’s a breath of fresh air.

You wouldn’t play either of Sheehan or Santos? Mental.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 6:08 pmTeam I’d play at Wigan….

What a shite day. The football gods have decided we will never win at Blackpool again. Today, just to make sure they had that arsehole of a ref to make sure. I can put up with them misinterpreting situations but when they don't know the rules, then we're fecked.
That said, we really didn't help ourselves. Switching off in situations, not wanting the ball as much as the opposition and our team default position of going sideways and backwards, rather than exploiting gaps ahead, or being behind opposition players. Slow it right down until they're all back behind the ball.
We'd never score a goal like their 4th.
It all started so well and all. Thank feck I don't have a ticket for Tuesday. I couldn't face another humiliation at the hands of near neighbours.

I notice Derby and Portsmouth managed 1 point between them, the absolute bottle jobs.

Santos is at present suspended. If that is overturned then he plays.The_Gun wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 7:13 pmYou wouldn’t play either of Sheehan or Santos? Mental.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 6:08 pmTeam I’d play at Wigan….

Sheehan for me is a problem in these games. And he’s been generally poor for a while now too. He’s out of form and means we lack any physicality in there. Teams target him and are getting joy.

Form table. Last 6 games. Portsmouth top. Derby 2nd. We are 9th.
Derby lost at Barnsley and Portsmouth drew away at Charlton. I don’t think that their runs can be described as ‘bottling it’. Ours can.

The guy is widely regarded as possibly the best player in the division, and I think was nominated for player of the month recently want her?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 7:22 pmSantos is at present suspended. However, he's also the target of your current need to hate at least one member of the team, so suppose that means you can ignore the facts to sort your weird obsession....

He’s being targeted and bullied out of games. And he’s not on form. I’m suggesting we should do something different at Wigan for the specific game it is likely to be. Not selling him for tuppence.

Why do you think he's being targeted & bullied?
Maybe something to do with being widely regarded as one of - if not the - best players in the division????

He’s being bullied because he lacks the physical attributes to win those battles and teams do it because it’s working.dave the minion wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 9:16 pmWhy do you think he's being targeted & bullied?

We can’t keep doing the same things as they aren’t working.
We need to change the system, change up how we play and make sure we match Wigan for the physical attributes. We have the better players but we can’t show that unless we earn the right.
