I fancy a 2-1 win tonight.

I’m saying 3-1 to us. But 2-1 would also be super. Suns out. So feels like it’s the time Evatt sides might hit top form.

🤔

There’s clearly been a glitch in the matrix or something.

Who do we think Evatt will start tonight then? I guess Dempsey and maybe Ashworth to come into the side from Saturday?

That's the XI that I guessed pre-Cambridge he would start tonight. Slight inkling he might go unchanged again because Ogbeta is finding his feet and Maghoma starting to twinkle, but Demps and Ash might be slightly 'safer' starting options, with the other two held back for emergency if chasing the game.

Also got Randell as an option - on either side.

Even though I understand the logic behind our regular rotating of the starting eleven, there's a question to be asked about how big an impact it's having on individual efforts to find a bit of form and, for want of a better phrase, team synergy.

I'd be tempted to name an unchanged team.

Think team synergy is good enough mate, FWIW I agree, I don't recall a huge amount of changes pre Christmas when we were doing really well, but maybe that's memory playing tricks...

Ogbeta got a bit of a rest Saturday. Demps for Paris would be my only change, but I'd be fine unchanged too. Ogbeta really helps hide Toal's weakness on the ball too. First one we've had since Connor you can just give the ball too without having to work them space, which relies on a lot of moving parts being right.

Injury maybe?

But I’d argue Ogbeta is warming up and maybe a better wing back. And Iredale on the bench covers that role and LCB. Whilst Williams covers both wing back sides. Potentially not leaving a spot for Ashworth. Which is harsh as he was doing well.

I think that’s right - Randell on the bench who can cover either flank. Ashworth unlucky. As is Iredale at the moment - he didn’t do much wrong.

Come on you white men!

Agreed with all this. It's a peril of having what is now quite a "wide" squad.

Ashworth has been out of the 18 for the past 3 games, Ramsay for the past 4; and that's with injuries to Charles, Baxter, Taylor, Nlundulu, Johnston and (mostly) Mendes Gomes (who effectively replaced Williams on the list - CMG's last game was Wigan, Randell reappeared for the Cambridge game).

If all those bar CMG are back for say the last fortnight of the season, we'll have 24 players fighting for 18 places in each matchday squad.

Ooh it's Pete on co-comms. I do like him. Wanderers-biased without being one-eyed; knowledgeable and affable.

They’ve got the thug, Cosgrove, on the bench. I think Toal owes him one.
