Jones plays for me. RWB if needs be, but he’s important.
I don’t think they are throwing Ramsay in from the cold away to Exeter and for me that would be a bad choice.

Where are you seeing the handball? On the second Maghoma shot?Jeux sans frontiéres wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 10:12 pmAlso, am I the only one who thinks that this is a stonewall penalty and red card against number 43 for basically being their goalkeeper from the Paris Maghoma shot...

Impossible to fully tell but my best guess is the ball goes under his arm and keeper saves it.Jeux sans frontiéres wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 10:12 pmAlso, am I the only one who thinks that this is a stonewall penalty and red card against number 43 for basically being their goalkeeper from the Paris Maghoma shot...

Yep. Dives across the near post, left arm saves the ball and knocks it out of play.
An irrelevance now, but could have been another key decision go against us in a season littered with them.

Look where Randy starts his run.
And Iredale blowing the kiss to the home fan with the flat cap and whippet! Absolutely love it.

Loved Thomason getting in a Tyke face about the penalty.

And this…

Aye. Thomo was unlucky to be booked and played it beautifully from there on in. Right balance of fire and passion.
Quick player thoughts.
Coleman - doesn't look as shaky as he did, not at fault for either goal, but longer distribution needs work.
Jones - so adaptable and led the fightback. I'd have him RWB at Exeter.
Santos - handled Cole well. Must be weird to see Barnsley fielding a tribute act to him.
Toal - always looks better RCB than LCB. Our finishing "back five" (not that it is one, but you get my meaning) might be the new starters.
JDC - was his usual self, energetic, getting involved. Hope the injury's not too bad.
Sheehan - just give him the ball and things happen - like playing a one-two off the keeper on a 98th minute penalty.
Thomason - as above. MOTM.
Dempsey - somewhat disappointing; has now dipped behind Maghoma. Couldn't get in the game no matter how many hairbands he tried.
Ogbeta - usual mix of promising and questionable. Might find himself dropped for (Exeter old boy) Randell on Saturday.
Collins - usual mix of promising touches on the ball - great assist - but needs more ball. Player there; we need to get him playing.
Adeboyejo - he does work hard and get into the right positions, and deserved his goal (a great example of both). But we need Dion back.
Subs...
Iredale - just fits our system so well. Passing range and a nice streak of steel. Get him back in.
Williams - we've missed his direct pace. Unsurprisingly first to the penalty rebound to spark delirium.
Maghoma - not his best game - he can sometimes take a while to warm up - but gutsy in possession, as we needed.
Jerome - won a penalty and threw himself around a bit but was outmuscled for a huge aerial chance.
Bodvarsson - shouldn't be a target man (he's a 10 not a 9) and shouldn't have missed that chance.
Evatt - Must have been cursing Oakwell when we went 2-0 down and might have been booed out of town by the away end if we'd have lost after that double striker sub. But deserves kudos for the squad and ethos he's built.

Thomason had a great second half - recovered from the booking and gifting them the goal - he was definitely targeted by the press. One to watch out for that I think, suspect it will be seized on by other managers. He will learn though.

Absolute roller-coaster. Not advisable for weak hearts though. A real ding-dong-do. Would have loved beloved Dave Hickson (R.I.P.) commentating this one..

Barnsley’s game in hand being Portsmouth is useful. Peterborough still scoring for fun - that’s going to be an awkward trip on the final day…

The passion from Thomason is always there. Obviously he has to learn to direct it at times. But it’s important.
Evatt showing it at the end helps massively I think too. More of that will do me. Show it. It will help the fans and will help demonstrate the fight we have. It’s also a release. Sometimes I think we’ve been too calm. Release it and let it out. I honestly think it will help us. Without overdoing it or losing control of course. Bolton fans will respond to that far better I think than more cold and calculated responses.

Suboptimal but it depends on the table. If they're mathematically playoffs only and we have to win, we've got more skin in the game and their players are less likely to contest 50-50s. But we're a ways from that yet...officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 10:38 pmBarnsley’s game in hand being Portsmouth is useful. Yeah, as I said a bit earlier, I think he should do a bit more of that at the end of games. It's showbiz but it's fun and it creates a mentality.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 10:41 pmThe passion from Thomason is always there. Obviously he has to learn to direct it at times.
