We're miles better when we're not patiently building up the play. When we go for the jugular we look lethal.

The patient build up play suits us when we're ahead.
It's a balance. When we go too long, we too often turn over possession. But when we catch sides in transition we can slice through them.

Man, I'm still on about 120bpm. Sticking to the end of the video, listening to our fans serenading the disconsolate Barnsley players with "2-0 and you f&cked it up", and just smiling, with tears not far from the eyes. Wonderful, wonderful stuff.

As noted - springboard. Anyone who watched the vid to the end will have seen Evatt really giving the arm-pumps to the away end, who loved it and sang his name. (He should do more of that - I know it's a bit Klopp but it really gets the fans going.) Let's get behind the team and stick in second place.

60% possession, 20 shots, ripped 'em apart time after time. We should have scored an absolute hatful. Such a shame we're not converting enough, even the penalty needed a rebound and at the same time giving the easiest goals away. But come on that second half after their goal, incredible, no one plays football like that at this level, no one.

Good result for you guys. I think a draw suits us as well. 4 points dropped between both Bolton and Barnsley.

6 points clear no matter what happens for us even if Barnsley’s do win their game in hand.

Up to second apparently.
Plenty more ups and downs yet. We just have to use that equaliser to galvanise us.

Remember: Barnsley almost always score, but they also almost always concede. Keep at it, whites.

Iredale has to start next game. He’s been good coming on.
Agree - I like him in our system, he passes well and that helps with the overloads. Not sure who to drop, like...
I think we'd probably have to go with shunting Jones to RWB, wouldn't we?
It's definitely an option - and it keeps the vice-captain's calm head on the pitch. He knows the system as well as anyone – he helped invent it.

Knowing JDC he'll bounce back like a rubber ball. Knowing our injury luck he'll be out for a decade.

I promise you I never lost all faith.

As Jeux Sans Frontieres said, there aren't many opponents like Barnsley. 2-0 down at Derby, we're f&cked. But Barnsley are...weird.

Once again the opposition goalie was their man of the match. Just shows, our front men can operate if you get the ball to them. Against a spoiling, fouling time-wasting lot. Toal seemed up for fisticuffs at the end. Has to be "All's well that ends well", although I wasn't very mannerly till we scored our second. Well done the lads for a great come-back. :oyea: :oyea:

I did watch until the end- usually I turn off. Secretly I was hoping Toal raked his studs down Cosgroves face, but I did enjoy the crowd as my heart rate slowed down!

What a game. So many things to dissect. When I saw the "finishers" coming on I thought that was it. Not in a positive way. But we clawed it back. Such an important point. Collins showed us he has class. Thomason was too wound up at the beginning but played a superb 2nd half. Sheehan was pivotal to everything we did. We missed some sitters... Bods was an unbelievable miss for a striker with an open goal... our right side of defence needs sorting out...but not going to criticize. My adrenaline is still rushing. Well done lads.

Title's yours to lose now. Any of us, Derby and Barnsley would snap your arm off if offered second.

Totally agree, there's no way we can sustain it for 90 minutes so I suspect there's a plan for doing it. More often than not the plan is late in the game once we've made the subs and aren't fully all gung-ho. Today was a prime example of us doing it well.

What a difference a goal makes. Imagine the response had we lost this after missing those two close range efforts.

Us fickle fans. No wonder Evatt relies upon the reports.

Man of the match? Thomason again for me. Made the mistake or at least partial mistake but was outstanding second half. The key to us injecting tempo into our play.

I thought Jerome was great when he came on, too. There. I said it. Are you happy now, Mum?

Also, am I the only one who thinks that this is a stonewall penalty and red card against number 43 for basically being their goalkeeper from the Paris Maghoma shot...

I’m also in favour of starting Iredale at Exeter, and would be leaving Jones out. If JDC is injured then Ramsay gets his chance.

Noticed that. I love him. Look at that passion. I’m glad we scored—if only to avoid C*sgrove having an opportunity to reply.

I think away from home Jones starts but Ramsay has to be on the bench. And does Randell not get a look in?
