SERVER ISSUES ... and a resolution.
Howdy all,
I don't know why but the hosts Contabo have been having some serious issues of late and it has caused the server to be unreachable.
I am looking to move the database onto a cloud platform to allow for load balancing and backup.
This is going to take a short while as I need to find a suitable provider. There may be some more downtime to come however I'll be putting the website on my server at home for Saturday to ensure no outages.
Apologies for the issues.
DJ

Mate. Nothing to apologise for and thanks for hosting this.

Re: SERVER ISSUES ... and a resolution.
It's never normally an issue but when they have issues they have issues. I expect the site will fall over again sometime today. I'll have something in place for Saturday, just in case.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 9:29 amMate. Nothing to apologise for and thanks for hosting this.![]()

Good luck tomorrow!

Re: SERVER ISSUES ... and a resolution.
Finally moved the website to a new provider. All should see an improvement with load times etc.
If you have any issues then let me know and I'll try and sort them out.

For Jdblu: Having all sorts of problems with outlook taking over everything . I've been on line for years on just a few sites with just one id and a couple of passwords. Now I'm terrifed of getting locked out of here as my passwords won't work. Could you possibly please make sure this doesn't happen.

Re: SERVER ISSUES ... and a resolution.
Your browser usually has a "password manager" built into it, which might be the culprit. If it's "Edge" - Microsoft's browser, when you first log onto a site (and unless it's disabled), it pops up a prompt asking whether you want to save the password (credentials) - if you click "yes" then it saves it. It doesn't change what you typed, it just accepts it if you clicked "yes save" - so if you happened to mistype first go and clicked save, it saves something you weren't intending it to...Could this be the problem?TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 10:47 amFor Jdblu: Having all sorts of problems with outlook taking over everything . I can't stop your computer logging you out, the site is set to not log you out unless you choose it.
Re: SERVER ISSUES ... and a resolution.
Tango, when you are entering your details be sure to click the 'remember me' button otherwise it'll likely log you out after a smaller window of time.
Re: SERVER ISSUES ... and a resolution.
My browser doesn't "remember me" if I autofill the password. But if I type it manually and then click remember me before log in it tends to stay logged out for a few months at a go.

Re: SERVER ISSUES ... and a resolution.
Tried all sorts without succes mate. All I can do now is be totally open and say I was [email protected] . Beyond that I can't post my password as that's the problem. If this can't help I'll just have to keep logging onto The Trotters ad hope for the best. Thanks a bunch for trying. At my age
