A three-goal win is the very minimum we need if Derby somehow blow it. Get a third, then sit back - Boro aren't going to chase the game from that position.

Oxford 2 up at Exeter, so they're doing their bit. Still 6th as it stands and hosting us next weekend.

Even though we twatted Oxford last time, I’d probably prefer we got Lincoln.

I dunno. I think Oxford are "our sort of opponents". Would fancy us to get a decent result at theirs and a good one at ours.

Sounds like Carlisle are having a go. Derby will have enough though. Suspect we’ll drop off a bit second half.

Reading equalise v Blackpool, whose odds thus lengthen further.

Be nice to get a third early doors and see wouldn’t it.truewhite15 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 1:10 pmA three-goal win is the very minimum we need if Derby somehow blow it. Get a third, then sit back - Boro aren't going to chase the game from that position.

Burton gonna get lucky by the looks of it. There’s motivation to win the play offs! Not play on that fecking farmyard of a pitch again!

H/T, 2-0.
I fancy us against any of the potential play-off opponents, whether home, away, or at the National Stadium. You don't come within a single result of 2nd without being a good side at this level, and we've proven on a number of occasions that there's daylight between us and the chasing back when we've played well - which, despite what the naysayers say, has been more frequently than the opposite.
Of course, football's a funny old game, and owt can happen. But we've no reason to be scared of any of them.

It’s our formula today. Fairly relaxed in the game and bag early goals. Thats when we do well.
I would say Mason Clark worries me in a play off game. But we’ve a ways to go before we’d have to worry about that.
Charles has looked a threat and scored which is very good news. Santos looks fitter than before too. Fingers crossed. Just get everyone through unscathed.

Yeah I was just gonna post that if Cheltenham get a win they'd push Burton under - but then Cheltenham conceded at Stevenage, another of Those Sorts. Oh well, ne'er mind.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 1:21 pmBurton gonna get lucky by the looks of it. There’s motivation to win the play offs! Feels like this match is a good assessment of our season. Looks good, gets as close as possible, but not quite over the line.
We've tapered off. Us at full pomp would see us comfortably over the line here.
WTF is this, different ref for the second half?
Was he penalised for giving us a penalty?

Spare a thought for Lincoln who have to beat Portsmouth to get play offs.
FFS. 2-1.
Santos needs to play to the whistle. Ridiculous goal to concede.
That being said clear handball not given by the ref or linesman. EFL changing it up to make sure we play vs 12 men like most our games this season.

I’d sub Sheehan, Santos and Collins shortly.

Defensively that’s very soft. A theme since January is maybe we just have been too easy to score against at times.

They will equalise then Carlisle will. Classic last day football.

We're ahead but it doesn't feel like we're winning. Frustrating.

I think we have an issue in midfield. I don’t think any of the three midfield players are playing well and I don’t think they have for a few weeks tbh - bar Paris. Thomason off form. Sheehan off form. Dempsey has scored but I’m not convinced he offers enough all round.

Everybody else has had to play them twice already
Yeah, good half-time sub that
Exeter halve the deficit at home to Oxford. Our opponents could yet change. Barnsley always likely to concede, and Lincoln need it more than their opponents.
