The Posh lot arrive at the Toughsheet Stadium on Saturday probably hoping to bag the point's from a uninspired Bolton. Can we turn our form round and, to coin the latest White's buzz phrase, "Send em for a hot-dog". Personally, I reckon we can and will. Are we up for it? They ain't a Birmingham and we have some catching up to do. On you marks then and .....Go!

Tough game. I see the recently out of favour and Wanderers linked chap, Joel Randall, was back in the side and instrumental in their big win midweek.
We're at home, got a good record against them fwiw but likely to be without Dempsey and George now.
2-2 draw.

Wheels are coming off now. 2-0 defeat, handful of people left for the full time boos.

Might have a treat for this game,
The couch might be able to go back in time and see things that have gone before. It may be able to mark things in time and allow you to jump to that point in time. Sadly it can't allow you to change anything that's happened in the past. It may also have the ability to freeze time too.
This is all a massive maybe as I'm still programming it.

Great news about refreshing some of the couch upholstery...
No one stops supporting the team, in general, I don't think. Being unhappy with the way they're playing is not the same thing. You go to your favourite band gig, and they turn up off their tits and out of tune, you're probably going to be a bit unhappy and might even express the same...Obviously there isn't a direct parallel (as your favourite band doesn't have another band competing with them). But nonetheless if your team constantly performs below par, which ours has since January, it's reasonable to expect some mutterings IMO. I'm against booing whilst in play and at HT - just coz I don't think it helps. After the match, I don't care if people boo. The Board need to know when people are unhappy.

All fair, I think. As you say the band thing isn't a perfect comparison as it's not a competition but yeah, performers have to hit expectations. (Speaking as a professional musician, the more you get paid the more expectations are upon you...)Worthy4England wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 12:45 pmNo one stops supporting the team, in general, I don't think. Fair enough in that we haven't lost to them since Ivan Toney scored their winner in 2019. But last season's games were unsatisfying - we clung on in the home game with 10 men against 25 shots and two crossbar hits, then the 3-3 away game was obviously under the cloud of non-promotion but also laid bare our inadequacies.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 6:32 amWe're at home, got a good record against them fwiw but likely to be without Dempsey and George now.

They've had as bad a start as us - a point more but from two games more - but I don't know if their hangover's as bad. Banging five past Blackpool means they're now top scorers as well as top conceders, which is quite something. It won't be 0-0.

I hope we can win this. The score depends on how many we let in this time. 2-1 , 3-2 or 4-3.

I was same, bizarrely, on Tuesday. Then I saw the team and we got to 4 minutes in!
Not sure I fancy our chances of keeping them to 1 as the leagues top scorers with 25 (I mean they're also the leagues top conceders in fairness). Has 3-3 writ large.

Yep, fair point, but they only scored 1 against Wycombe and Lincoln, and couldn't muster any against Wrexham, Huddersfield and Wigan. Though we are leaky, there's a chance...Worthy4England wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 4:59 pmI was same, bizarrely, on Tuesday. Then I saw the team and we got to 4 minutes in!

Without a direct quote but quite clearly attributed, Ilesy says Evatt has set his players a target of seven points from the three league games before the next break (Posh, Stevenage, Stockport).

3 / 3 / 3
They can't count.
On a serious note, if Ian wants the Brum game to be an outlier we need to start sticking some serious points on the board.

Leaves
2.12 ppg to get - highest it's been for a good while on a declining number of games - or are we now all supposed to go "great he wanted 7 and we got 7 (or 9)? His to get target is still increasing. I think he might like us to forget...

He’ll have Stockport down as the point. We’re shit in local derbies.

I guess Evatt can't let it be known that he wants/needs 9 out of 9. I do wonder if maybe targets – points or positons - are being set for him rather than by him. Actually they are - by the teams above him in the table.
Speaking of which, it's possible - might even be probable, I couldn't work it out - that if we get 7/9 we might be in the top six. We're 2pts, albeit 6 goals, behind 5th-placed Huddersfield. The next three games are against Posh (12th), Stevenage (13th) and Stockport (9th), so wins would leapfrog them (although obviously draws won't.) Stevenage is a game in hand: Of those nine teams directly above us and within two points, only four play next midweek: one of them is Stevenage, and two play each other (Stockport v Reading).
Maybe he'd just like to be in the top six by the next break. It's still not top two though, is it....
