"Ask not for Whom the bell tolls" Home to Fleetwood. Tues, 12th Nov. 19-45.
Something's off at the Tough sheet and it isn't much to do with the ozone. The Whites are well and truly in the headlights and Tuesday is a real box of kippers affair. Nothing less than a convincing win will have the fans heading for the exits in droves. It's all pretty much been said now, and our testicles are hanging off the cliff tied to a dandelion, so we've talked the talk till we're hoarse and now...Quo Vadis (Whither goest thou) awaits our answer.

Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
Re: "Ask not for Whom the bell tolls" Home to Fleetwood. Tues, 12th Nov. 19-45.
I would be fairly confident that 90%+ of our fans couldn’t care less about this, especially if the current manger is still in situ come Tuesday.

I’m in the 90%. If he’s still here, I don’t care. And to be honest, I don’t massively care about the game even if someone new is appointed. I only care about the league this season.

Gonna be a weeeeeird atmosphere. Only a few would go to this sort of game anyway - 2,150 vs Vale last season, 2,300 v Barrow season before, 1,773 against these men in 2021/22 - and in the thundering silence they will be quite capable of launching their individual views at the head of a manager who has made perfectly plain that he doesn't want cup runs. Absolute existential angst.

I'll be there, in my usual prime seating no doubt.
Start Osei-Tutu, Geth and CMG if they're anywhere near fitness. Instructions not to exceed 60-70% of their capacity. For the rest - torn between wanting to play as much of the 1st 11 as possible to give them a crack at... well, it can hardly be called redemption, can it? Or sticking on loads of kids.
Like most, I couldn't care less about this competition. But I never want to see us lose.
You never know, I might be spending the game listening to the temporary organ grinders...

enjoyed your updates against villa under 18s. You may well get the opportunity to post some more gallows humour.

Maybe we’ll suffer another embarrassing 5-0 defeat, Evatt loses his cool, headbutts a Fleetwood youth player at full time and finally gets the sack. Fingers crossed anyway…

I'm expecting us to bow out of this one gracefully. Draw and lose on penalties.

Fingers crossed- the issue would be I can’t imagine any of the board bothering to turn up to see it…brommers95 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 12:16 amMaybe we’ll suffer another embarrassing 5-0 defeat, Evatt loses his cool, headbutts a Fleetwood youth player at full time and finally gets the sack. Genuinely think he might overhear a crowd comment and get involved. Not that such things would be good.brommers95 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 12:16 amMaybe we’ll suffer another embarrassing 5-0 defeat, Evatt loses his cool, headbutts a Fleetwood youth player at full time and finally gets the sack. He'll have a job. The crowd are on the other side of the stadium.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 8:43 amGenuinely think he might overhear a crowd comment and get involved. The only person he'd overhear is me. And I'm not that daft (other opinions may vary...)

I can watch this on my big telly via Sky, my wife’s going to be out tonight, and yet I’m currently thinking that I won’t bother.
I think the only thing that might change my mind would be if we start a load of youngsters, as I’d be intrigued to see how they fared.

In that case, people may feel even more free to make their opinions known....

I’d hazard a guess that the few hardy souls who venture to the ground tonight will be the sort least likely to make their feelings known.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 10:32 amHa really do they completely close the West Stand? Possibly (although that logically implies that the hardiest supporters back the manager). But if they do have an opinion, they can make it known.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 10:56 amI’d hazard a guess that the few hardy souls who venture to the ground tonight will be the sort least likely to make their feelings known.

Would we start the players who need minutes tonight? Be interested to hear BWFCI's views on Tutu potentially starting considering what happened at Barrow

Seem to be saying they'll manage the minutes. I should be far more fascinated about who's playing tonight but meh. I bet even Matheson's not bothered.boltonboris wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 11:51 amWould we start the players who need minutes tonight? "Evatt has told his side to “keep walking forwards” after the defeat at Stockport," - Maybe a poor choice of words in the circumstances, Ian. Would that be walking, with a few going nowhere passes across the back, perchance?

Judging by how the B team have lined up for their game this afternoon, it looks like we’ll have three or four youngsters in the squad tonight. Presumably some will start, but you never know with Evatt.
