In, Out, Shake It All About: January 2025 Transfer Window
Lots of chat elsewhere about signings, sellings and loans, which all adds up to the need for a dedicated transfer thread.
The BN reports Mr Here All Season as saying, "it will be busy, both in and out." (Sadly, He didn't go as far as saying he would "shake it all about.")

So, who's coming in? Who's leaving? And is this the season we finally get that outstanding loan from Chelsea?
Keyboards at the ready ... go!

PS the window flies open on 1 January and slams shut at 11pm on 3 February.

When asked about who he'd like to sign he finally came forward and said, 'Okay, Koke'. News suggests he's turned around on the deal.TonyDomingos wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 10:49 pmThe BN reports Mr Here All Season as saying, "it will be busy, both in and out." Someone who can put their left leg in, their left leg out without giving the ball to an opposition player.

Physicality we need some physicality both upfront & in midfield, a couple of 6'2.6'3 competitive players who like the rough stuff and can mix it when required.

Rumour in the Sun that Brett Ormerod is coming in as the kit man, if true talk about jobs for the boys - I had to check it wasn't April 1st.
It feels like Evatt is having a completely free reign to do anything he wants, unchallenged by the board.

Sorry to say, I have zero trust in Evatt and Markham data driven transfer decision-making. Their success rate which I calculate to be 20% over the last couple windows have been well below reasonable expectations. I would not give them another pound to spend

I’d like to see the boy Sharples Ahmed get a decent loan move for the second half of the season. He looks like he’s got a bit about him, so maybe a local National League side might be willing to give him a chance.

Maghoma came on for Brentford last night in their 3-1 defeat at Villa - He's obviously in their plans, so whatever slim hope I had of him being a possibility have now been extinguished...

Evatt: “We have moved him into the first team squad now and he has earned that. It is all about earning the right and doing things the right way. Football is 24-seven and you can’t switch off, whether you are at Lostock, in the stadium, at home, and I have seen huge improvements in Sonny this season.”
Whether he'll still be there by Feb 1st remains to be seen, but as an underager he doesn't take a squad berth anyway.

Ian's been talking about the window.
https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/2 ... n-success/
Sadly I'm not quite sure what he's on about in this quote about making another signing from abroad, a la Szabi Schön:
“It is something we are looking at, definitely, even though there is only one real space left for the foreign market in the squad as it stands. The ones where you have an unlimited supply, a bit like Birmingham City, they have to tick so many boxes and, financially, those players are probably out of our reach. But the processes we have put in place behind the scenes are going to help us if that is the route we decide to go down."
Also says everyone's got a stake in transfers.
“The windows are becoming more and more complex, more detailed. Everyone is involved in recruitment, that’s how it should be, and it’s our collective job – myself, Chris (Markham), the board, Ludonautics, to come together and make sure we have the right options and we do the right bits of business. If that means player trading, selling players, buying them, we have to make sure we get it right and there is a lot of work going on at the moment to make sure that happens. Everyone has to be comfortable with what we are doing. We have to safeguard ourselves and that all the key stakeholders in the fortunes of the football department are doing all they can to make the right decisions for this football club, and that is how it will be from now on.”

I suspect the first part is around the "non-elite" players bit - can only sign 2, and the elite ones are more expensive?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 2:10 pmIan's been talking about the window.

Cheers. So he's saying we aren't in for Mbappe on loan?Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 2:37 pmI suspect the first part is around the "non-elite" players bit - can only sign 2, and the elite ones are more expensive?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 2:10 pmIan's been talking about the window.

Aye assume it's the ESCs. Birmingham apparently can do the Kylian Mbappe on loan. We'd be stuck trying to get Ethan on our other ESC.
I assume Hungary are good enough that if Szabi keeps getting caps we'll be able to get him on a work permit proper.

I’m not overly sure how I want this window to go. I’m resigned to the fact Evatt isn’t going anywhere for a while. I think we do need to strengthen, but I’m not overly keen on the idea on Evatt spaffing more of our precious cash at another window.

Can't wait for the ITK types to explain how the next Victor Adeboyejo has been on their radar for years and is such an amazing signing. It's so important that he feck* off before the window, he wouldn't know a good player if he were wearing a Real Madrid shirt.

One player in every position. Except keeper.
Re: In, Out, Shake It All About: January 2025 Transfer Window
Surely we don’t need another striker?
