I'm trying to work out if there is statistically, by way of most commonly used vowels and consonants without repetition, an optimal word to start off with. In doing so I have deduced that the worst opening gambit must surely be 'queue'.

Ohhh, I’m going to try that as my opening word next time Worthy, ta! 3 vowels and a S. Good call!

Lol - have you seen the list of "complete blanks" I've scored on the first go? :-) I mean it's telling me there's I's and O's, but it's generally been bloody useless!

I tend to alternate my opening guess dependent on what the word was the day before.

Least - if there weren't any a's or e's

Doubt - if no o's or u's

It doesn't always help!

Oh yes - I've used that one a couple of times too. Although I think I'm going to switch to audio from tomorrow!

I tend to use "stain" and then depending on whether I need to "cheat" from self-imposed hard mode, "rouge" second.

The words are at random from a list of possible "well known" 5 letter words, and apparently the inventor doesn't even know what the word is which day. They're not curated so no point choosing your first word based on yesterday's word I don't think!

I'm getting worse. Three fours followed by a five today. FWIW I started with "arose" followed by "tunic", which gives me all the vowels (except y) and the frequent consonants n r s t. Of course it was the c that helped yesterday.

Just me that racks their brain for a different random word every day? Maybe that’s where I’ve been going wrong of late.
