Re: The Politics Thread
It is very simple. Lets have a list of what is measurably better since Brexit and one for worse. We can then evaluate and finally agree if shit is better or just shitter...

You don't miss the benefits of paying into the EU. We'll still be paying large chunks in 2026 and smaller ones until 2069.Hoboh wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 4:55 pmAnd I miss all the benefits of paying in to the EU whilst having to accept all the beggers and others moving freely about from Eastern Europe, chucking money to the Spanish to build an airport they never used, oh what brilliant rules and sunlit uplands.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 12:54 pmWonder away. None is the answer, we don't employ anyone at low wages. There are some on working visas, but they have to earn at least 40k and generally where we need to recruit abroad for skills gaps, it certainly isn't the cheapest option.Hoboh wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 7:29 amWorthy4England wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 12:37 pmMany words. Miss point as ever.
About a third of our current "growth" comes from immigration. One day you might get your American arse licking head around their version of free market capitalism and gain some basic understanding of what's currently fecking people.
I'm beginning to wonder just how many of this cheap labour you so love works at your place?
It's only nerds who fail to see what's fecking people up, free market blah, blah, blah. Laziness and fecking stupidity is the biggest elephant in the room, coupled with 25yo children.
About a third of lack of services are due this overseas growth, lack of housing for the 25-30yo children, no schools places, but yeah when you are so far up your own backdoor yo never see these things.
Follow your local MP, she will see you right
Talking about laziness and stupidity, that's got most of the rest of your post covered. What is this housing shortage of which you speak? There's over a million empty properties in the UK. a further 1.25m unbuild planning permissions. Labour is doubling down on the stupid view of the market and what's causing the problem. More than half the people without a home are there because they can't afford it, rather than one doesn't exist. Quite a lot are out of a home because of no-fault evictions. That's because there's been 30 years of broad wage stagnation. We don't get the facilities new builds need, because we give developers viability clauses on infra, which is always the first element to fall away post planning under S106.
I have no idea where your 1/3 of lack of services comes from - what's your source?
My local MP isn't a she.
Just remind me, where are those sunlit uplands from Brexit again? I seem to be missing them.
Tried to see a Dr recently that doesn't take 2 weeks, get a hospital appointment, get kids into local schools? Soon it will be book a room in an hotel.
You just stagger around in your middle-class society and completely ignore the reality of what's happening on the streets. Well the lot currently running government will soon bring it home.
So you are not in Miss free doc Martins constituency, I do apologise.
We have fewer GP's than we had in 2015.
I can see the reality of what's happening on the streets, mate. it's been perpetrated sine the mid 80's. We're still waiting for anything to "trickle down" - I'm starting to think they might have conned every fcuker on that front.

Work from home is bad according to the media. Maybe Keir is just leading by example?

Mebbes he should go to the Carlton club instead to sit and applaud songs about Nazis and how ‘we should have let Hitler win’ instead. That way he’d be a man of the people rather than I dunno doing his job and working hard.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 12:43 pmWork from home is bad according to the media. Look. You just need to find something that rhymes with Keir and post it everywhere because it's VERY funny. Nearly as funny as having nicknames. But not quite.

You stick with your poodle whilst Musk tells him what he can do - ya know taking instructions from non-elected elites - right up Nige's street, that.

UK's long-term government borrowing costs hit their highest level since 1998.
Looks like Rachel from accounts is bang on target for Stammer, sorry Starmers largest growth of the G7.

Well, let's just hope we don't get Covid2 under labour. Had they been in power during heat 1 we'd still be in lock down now.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 1:07 pmNot going to unwind 14 years of shite in 5 months. Whether they unwind it over 5 years, I doubt, as we're run by Elon Musk.
According to your theory, it took 14 years of Tory white, Labour are well up on that with 5 months and the worst is still to come.

Jeez on COVID 1, at least the Tories managed to keep us right near the top of death rates per capita within the G7, despite proclaiming that we were first with the innoculation - how piss poor do you want it? Only second to a tit that was advocating bleach.Hoboh wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 2:21 pmWell, let's just hope we don't get Covid2 under labour. My theory isn't that the Tories were shite after 14 years, but for the most part during it too. I think the alliance in the first 5 years had it tough and as someone who can see out of more than one eye, was willing to let that roll a while. Maybe you could tell us where the £895 billion of QE money landed, because it wasn't in my pocket. Maybe Baroness Mone can help out?

And yes, you are correct, the first few years of the Tories were tough, why? BECAUSE THEY HAD TO SORT OUT THE LAST LOT OF LABOURS MESS!
You would be well aware that Baroness Bra and quite a few others, including politicians would be hanging from lampposts if it was up to me.
Labour just wanted us all locked up in our homes so they had total control, nothing new for Stalinists there.

No I don't trust any of them, but I'll let them have longer than 5 months. Labour is now sorting out the LAST TWO TORY MESSES - Brexit and COVID where they've pretty much tripled the. By your measure (that an international financial crisis was "Labours mess"), these are fair game to hang the Tories for. I didn't expect the Tories to sort out their "austerity" programme in 5 months.
Back to the important question - where did the £895 BILLION of QE feck off to whilst they pushed the debt up to nearly 4 BILLION USD?

When you have a country, where the leader is in control of the judicial system, that's a dictatorship. Welcome to America.
