Urban regeneration opportunities in East London?

Post by Zulus Thousand of em » Thu Sep 28, 2006 10:25 am

Eli Papouchado, the Israeli backing the planned takeover bid of West Ham by Kia Joorabchian, says he knows nothing about football but realises such a deal would provide a "real estate opportunity".

The above "story" is carried in a number of newspapers this morning. So the good old pearly queens' stadium could be converting into a mega eel and mash emporium, do you think? Get Tesco on the red phone!

A right touch!
God's country! God's county!
God's town! God's team!!
How can we fail?

COME ON YOU WHITES!!

All this talk of takeovers is upsetting Poor Alan Pardew (henceforth known as PAP)

It's the reason they're in such poor form you know.

It seems the shammers are in a bit of bother
PALERMO, Sicily, Sept 28 (Reuters) - Italian police have arrested 20 West Ham United supporters after overnight clashes with Palermo fans in Sicily before Thursday's UEFA Cup match.

Police in Palermo said around 300 rival supporters fought street battles and then clashed with police in the city centre, hurling glass bottles and other objects at them.

One Palermo fan was also arrested, police said. Some 2,500 English fans are expected at the stadium later on Thursday for the second leg of the UEFA Cup first round tie.

Palermo fans and the regional governor of Sicily have accused West Ham supporters of wearing offensive T-shirts with "The Mafia" written on them during the first leg match in London, which Palermo won 1-0.

Urban regeneration in Liverpool too, it would appear. We've been given the Objective 1 funding as the next step on our way to the new stadium, our very own Soulless Bowl...
