Premiership All Star XI

Post by hisroyalgingerness » Wed Nov 22, 2006 1:07 pm

This is one for bored at work

The Premier League are playing a one-off game against a La Liga XI. They have opted for a squad of 17 including one player only from each Premiership club excluding the 3 newly promoted clubs Watford, Sheff Utd and Reading

Pick your squad of 17 as you wish, 2 or 3 keepers, be like Sven and only include 4 strikers and name your formation. But you can only have one player from each club

4 goals in 8 games (only 3 starts). He's actually being one of this year's sensations here.

Actually there are a bit too many ball-hoggers in that team, tried dropping Ronaldinho for Martin Petrov and then stick Iniesta or Deco in the mid instead of Riquelme, but couldn't bring myself to it.

looks a great team, cant say i've heard of the lad ettien in midfield

interesting to see you have david villa in, he looks a great player from what little i've seen of him, was arguing with my mate that he looked a better player than torres at the world cup

Felix Ettien is a Makelele type of player, although he can also play on the wing. Great physical prowess, he can make incredible runs to the box. I put him there to add some physicality to the team, and somebody who can actually make a tackle. It was either him or Duscher from Depor, but from Depor I preferred to get Andrade in the back 4.

Villa is great, however he is usually wasted in the wing at the national team while Torres gets the centreforward spot.

Villa is a much better finisher, also shows great awareness to get into scoring positions. Fernando Torres is a more skillful player that can dribble and create chances for himself, something that Villa won't, but his end product can be extremely embarassing. He always gets in the scoresheet playing against us though
