If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Job search for a 15 year old

Post by cal » Thu Dec 28, 2006 7:36 pm

Hi fellow boltonians,

do you know any buisnesses that tend to employ under 16/18 for small jobs that don't give the same pay as a paper round boy! I'd like to be a waiter but don't think I could as you deal with money/serve alcohol...

I tried my local Spar, they didnt reply even when there was a job offer for someone to do shelves, probally was taken.

any advice would be appreciated.

I used to work on a butcher stall in the old Market place before it upgraded. They always needed someone to bring frozen meat up from the basement, wash and clean the silver dishes, sharpen the boning knives, re-file the cutting boards etc. It's not a glamour filled job, but they were always looking when I did it. I can't see it being any different now. Try there.

Did any of the suggestions that were made at this thread work? Just so we don't repeat useless advice.

hi,

yes, i tried considering - just been busy sorting work experience. I might email/send a letter into a few local resturants/bars(middlebrook is the nearest) and see if they want a porter. I hope they allow such "holidays" for children too if I was accepted as work experience will be meaning 2 weeks away from a normal workplace. Muse are playing in Wembley and trying to make sure I have good funds to go, one of a few places I need to earn money for.. :P

just wondered if any1 had any contacts.

Be a Kitchen Porter (pot wash) Or as someone else suggested get down the market at 6am sat morning and you'll have yourself a job. If you wanna get in BWFC for free, sell goldline tickets/match programmes.

If you're friendly with them offer to wash your neighbours cars for a fiver, or a tenner for inside as well. Easy money surely.

Alternatively you could go pro and clean cars for a dealer somewhere.
