DvD box sets

Post by Harry Genshaw » Tue Mar 20, 2007 1:09 pm

I'm saving up for mi jollies for the next couple of months which necessitates a lot of stopping in at weekends. Anyone recommend a really good box set of Dvds that will keep me entertained?

I dont usually have much time for telly so I've never seen Lost, 24, Life on Mars or West Wing if anyone thinks they or owt else is worth bothering with?

Any ideas?

If you were a fan when it was on tv, The Comic Strip Presents.... box set is excellent value for money.
Plus you can't go wrong with the Die Hard Trilogy.

I enjoyed 24, Life on Mars, Sharpe and, to a lesser extent, Rome. My boys love Prison Break and Heroes.

Lost is ridiculously expensive, so I'd rent it, it's quality. I'd appreciate these wouldn't be to everyone's liking, but Futurama, Simpsons, and Family Guy boxsets are all pretty cheap nowadays, especially the early seasons.

I Claudius

Old BBC program - so you may have seen it before - if not I highly recommended it - probably the best series I have ever seen.

Excellent choice sir, I recently saw all five and a half seasons recently over the span of a couple of months. Television at its best.

Lost is fantastic matey, and it maybe worth having a look at Boston Legal law drama from the states. Really good programme.

Others recommended to me are Prision Break (i'm assured this is far better than LOST!!)
