He wants Liverpool reserves to play in the Football League

"Our young players may have the quality but not the experience for the first team. They are only on the bench."
Slight problem with this. Liverpool reserves are third from bottom of the current reserve league.

He complains that they only play 18 games. Think he'd be happy with 46?

It's no less cretinous from his mouth than it was from Mourinho's. And on that BBC report, I love the way Michael Robinson's so apopleptic about it that he loses the power of English!

Indeed. The reserve league was re-organised this season to have less games as most of the players have academy matches as well.

Madrid's B team do this in Spain. Can't see the point myself, due to the point already made about players burning out.

hasn't this idea come from his homeland - that of no fouls or physical contact

either way would just be a case of rich get richer and poor get fecked over by the richer

I can see the thinking behind it, but I personally don't agree with it. For a start how would these sides 'just' fit into the league structure? Someone would be losing out if all of a sudden some/all Premiership sides decided they wanted to do this. If they want in to the league then they'll have to start from the bottom, which would be a pointless exercise as Liverpool/Chelsea/United/whoever reserves would sh*t all over any side in non-league footie comprehensively, however they cannot just be parachuted into the league unless you expand the size of the football league.

Just stick to loaning players out, and letting them cut their teeth at a lower level of competitive football, or decide to keep them in-house if you'd prefer that they got some proper training rather than at a lower league side rather than playing first team footie.

Rafa is one King Sized buffoon.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Well I can't see the thinking behind it at all. If you ask me it's tubby's way of finally making a mark on the English game and getting his name in the history books.

Much like John Major being remembered for introducing the National Lottery (and knob all else), Rafa wants to be remembered for this.
Businesswoman of the year.
