No, gaiser - well, not me. Can't say I've noticed in my local bottlo either (not that that means much as I don't buy scotch whisky all that often). I usually stick to the poisons I know; Glenfiddich or Chivas Regal. Very occasionally I'll treat myself to the nectar of the gods known as Drambuie but I haven't done that for years as it makes a rather large hole in my drinking budget.

I had a few glasses of Macallan's single malt the other night, which went down very nicely.

:D Yeay!!

Actually, having left a decent dent in a bottle of Bombay Sapphire (shouldn't it now be Mumbai Sapphire, btw?) yesterday evening, I think I'll have a palate cleansing gallon of water first!

Bleugh - Lagavulin and Laphroaig are vile. Bunnahabhain or a Highland Park for me. Or a Cragganmore. Or a Tomatin. Or a Bowmore. Springbank's top notch and there's a cheeky cask strength Arran from the Malt Whisky Society that I'm quite partial to. Did I mention Balvenie Doublewood?

Whiskey is definately my fighting juice. I'll stick with a nice brandy thanks.

Three Crowns being my tipple of choice!

Bombay Sapphire - good call brucie, though have taken a liking to Tanqueray.

Have some Loch Lomond Golf Club whisky sat in the cellar, can't buy it in the shops and I'm really reluctant to open it. Someone give me a good reason for cracking it!!

Afraid I'm one of those oddballs who wouldn't give a shilling a bathful for any whisky. Quite partial to the odd drop of Fundador Spanish Brandy, though my preferred tipple is good Spanish sherry (that doesn't mean expensive as Harveys Bristol Cream and co are rubbish IMO, I prefer Gonzales Biaz ) Don't laugh, most sherries are 17.5 proof whereas your lager is about 3-4). Quite amazing but when in Spain I usually drink Bacardi and lemonade, San Miguel or Lumumba's and rarely touch the stuff. One before an evening meal and that's it.

Takes all sorts I suppose. Father in law (R.I.P) would only ever drink single malt and Lord help you if you suggested water, ice or anything else with it.

I wont laugh at sherry, but lager is generally 7-12 proof. Even weak bud is 7 proof.

Bloody 'ell that's dynamite! Our 'strong' lager is only 5-6%
