Fk me that's big news
He was in the Guinness Book of Records as Britain's biggest bankrupt, gradually clawed his way back by making millions out of Arsenal
read David Conn's excellent The Beautiful Game? for more info
Wonder why he's left - "irreconcilable differences" sez BBC - Fiszman was selling shares to this Kroenke geezer

If so, why leave now? I can only imagine to "save face".Hoolio wrote:They're being bought out.
But if he disagrees with the rest of the board, surely that includes the Hill-Woods, who are understandably adamant they don't want to sell the club they've run (fairly benevolently, without scalping huge profits) for about 70 years.

The Hill-Woods have very little influence. Dein bought them out. Hill-Wood is only chairman in name and has very little say in any matters.
FWIW, I cannot stand Dein. Too much influence within the FA, which should be cut out.
For once TalkSport is the station to listen too! Ian Wright was on at the time, and he keeps popping out to call people on his mobile to see what the craic is!

Dein came out publicly when the Americans were first interested and said he would never sell.Batman wrote:Hoolio wrote:Dein never wanted to sell.
Hence why he is leaving due to "irreconcilable differences" with the board.
Rumour has it now that HE wanted the dollars in, the board didn't
so he has fecked off and shall return as Chairman within the US consortium

Mind, I think it's decent of the board - the rest of them - to not sell their shares for a year. Gives Silent Stanley enough time to work out whether to call them "Arsenal White Sox" or "Emirate Eagles" or whatever!
Question, cos I'm thick - but what now happens to the shares Dein owns? Does he still own them, just without being on the board. Like say, me Grandad who owned shares in Sunderland?
