If it is, it's a poor effort and has to be improved upon if they're going to stop us taking the pairs title, Tango.TANGODANCER wrote:Is this the golf equivalent of mind games?Bruce Rioja wrote:
No worries, fella. I can run you back later if the boy in the pink trousers (inside leg 22) can't, so no worries on that score either.
Luke Donald is from Hertfordshire, which is a fair bit closer to Kent than Bootle.blurred wrote:Ah right, couldn't tell from the small photie. Thought you'd gone the scouse angle on me and given me Dougherty (although he's from Bootle or somewhere up the coast, but he's local enough)TANGODANCER wrote:Probably, but I doubt Luke Donald would be thrilled.blurred wrote:Am I down as Nick Dougherty there, Tango? That'd do me!
Looking forward to this, now.

Excellent! I'll be there a shade before 11.
Does anyone need a lift? I've had a little read of the thread and I think everyone is sorted, however if anyone's circumstances change feel free to phone me on 07919320100. I will be doing nothing on the Sunday morning except relaxing with Miss Mischief before she goes to work, ironically at Bolton Golf Club! So I could always help out if someones high and dry last minute.
If it doesn't stop fcukin raining those three holes down the botton by the railway are going to be a swamp!

Tango - it's funny how life can sometimes imitate art, especially when an English team wins the trophy and lets the also-rans at 12th share in the victory for the St George's cross.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:Just come back from some of the best days I've ever had, playing in the international students matchplay in Inglostadt, Bavaria.
Unfortunately the team Cambridge fielded was well under-strength (hence my inclusion!) and was more of a social four than a team capable of winning, so we finished 12th out of the 26th universities there from Europe, USA and South Africa. Crucially, however, 12th was better than Oxford managed, and happily the trophy did come back home to England in the luggage of Exeter University, who had a team of unbelievable golfers, one of whom shot 67 on what was a very difficult golf course.

You are standing on the tee of the scariest hole in golf, the 8th at Royal Troon. Known as the Postage Stamp it is only 127 yards from tee to green. A mere wedge shot, no problem. And then....miss that green and tear your card up. I know, I was there. ![Evil or Very Mad ](./images/smilies/icon_evil.gif)
The "green" is that bit straight ahead.
