To be fair, he's a goal machine in Spain. I think he's got close to 60 goals in the last three seasons.Bruce Rioja wrote:And have you seen who's in at 69, in a list that doesn't contain Eidur?

All about opinions innit? Whereas Eidur (of whom more than a few on here might not have unbiased views), bless him, has been riding the pine for the thick end of four seasons.Dr.Karl wrote:To be fair, he's a goal machine in Spain. Re: 442 mag's 100 Greatest Players
As the mag explains, it's a combination of achievement and form over the last year.Batman wrote:Some dodgy ones here - Ayala over Terry? Rooney in the top 20 let alone top 10?? Inzaghi? Gary feckin NEVILLE?
Ayala's proved himself for years, whereas Terry often gets exposed at the highest level. Rooney's a little high for my tastes but if you think he's not one of the world's best you need to take your bat-blinkers off. Inzaghi's scored hundreds in Italy and you might recall a couple of goals he scored in May. And it's been said many a time on here that there's not a right-back near G-Nev in the top flight. Next?

True, it wasn't exactly a career year for poor Michael.Dr.Karl wrote:I've got to take you up on number 68 then.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:As the mag explains, it's a combination of achievement and form over the last year.Batman wrote:Some dodgy ones here - Ayala over Terry? Ayala is past it, therefore no longer eligible as a current 'great' to me
I said Rooney would struggle to make my top 29 = that's still pretty good if you ask me, even for a Rag
Inzaghi - see Ayala, has scored very infrequently since leaving Juve 5yrs ago (two tap ins in Athens doesnt cut it)
Neville - he's just a c*nt

Not sure Anelka's goal-scoring record over the last few seasons is good enough for a place in that list - only 11 in the league last season. Doesn't really stand comparison with Forlan over the last few years.
