I would have thought it quite difficult for Lancelot to have him self a five-knuckle under all that armour anyhow - unless it was well oiled I suspect it'd squeak like feck.

I'm known as Army to the majority of my friends due to my surname being Armstrong, the White bit just fell in sort of naturally like (not in a racist / supremacist way of course). :)

Were you aware that "bish" is a rather obscure word for error? I wasn't, until doing the Observer's ridiculous Azed crossword, yesterday...

Clued as (IIRC): A mistake for high-ranking churchman to give up work (4).
Chambers 2003 gives "Bish" as "error". I checked...!

It's a public school type of word, as in 'I've made a frightful bish of things, what?'. I bet it appears in the Jeeves books quite a lot.

I know it is, Puskas, I just could help myself responding like that! As LGM suggests it owes its origins to the private school system. The OED states:
[Etym. unknown.]

A mistake, blunder.
1937 PARTRIDGE Dict. Slang 55/2 Bish,..a mistake: Seaford Preparatory School: from ca. 1925.

Probably where most pupils of "Seaford Preparatory School: from ca. 1925" were destined for, poor buggers. :)

Looked around the site, chuckled at "Barry Siddall's sideburns", considered similar constructions, passed a mirror, noticed ridiculous bouffant haircut, a handle was born.
