Whereas I'd love to agree with that sentiment, Batty, and can see exactly where you're coming from, I suppose that at least he'd earned the right to wind his neck out a bit, unlike some that should be hiding their faces in shame.Batman wrote:Death or glory.
Atrocious shot.
Should be dropped - for thinking of himself and not the team. Piss poor.

Not sure it does - just look over the thread on the last test to see how many different teams were suggested on this board alone.FD wrote:Quite right, nobody else could do that job eh?KeeeeeeeBaaaaaaab wrote:Because he picks the team?
The team pretty much picks itself don't you think?
And remember what happened when they dropped Mike Brearley...

Aye, Pietersen looks to have thrown this one away, but atleast his class allowed him to get in that position in the first place. It was a daft shot, but once again the top 5 bar him were atrocious. Not 100 runs between them.
If we lose this, then i expect big changes for the final test. Get rid of all the batsmen bar KP and Strauss, then start again with Foster in as Wicketkeeper.

Mate, anyone but Ambrose. He's been shit with the bat, and behind the stumps, well, just look at the extras and how they've come about.Tombwfc wrote: Foster in as Wicketkeeper.
England 1st Innings. Extras = 15. That's 5 x NB, 2 x W, 1 x B, 7 x LB Oh, and Boucher took three catches as well.
SA 1st Innings. Extras = 41 (That'll be their 3rd highest scorer then) and look where they came from. 6 x NB, 0 X W, 35 x LB . One catch to Ambrose.
So far this innings. Extras = 8. 3 x W, 4 x B and 1 x LB with two catches to Boucher.

Never saw much wrong with Geraint Jones with the big gloves myself. As for Collingwood, well, "Cometh the hour, cometh the man". Big Fred made a right bollox with the bat, Pietersen with 94, badly-judged blast or no- can't really take too much blame and the low order batsmen have performed really badly in general. Just hope Colly holds his nerve and the high-order men can make a respectable tally. We still have four wickets left (well, three, as Monty is somewhat unfamiliar with the contours of a cricket bat) and said Monty could be a big factor in our last foray at salvation.
Hope springs eternal and I'd love to see Nels finally grind his gnashers to powder in rage. Come On England.

Saffers are chasing 281 to win. We'd got ourselves in a good position then lost our last 3 wicket for zilch. Typical England doing well then the all to inevitable collapse.
Its nicely poised but scores of less than 300 are being chased down these days more often
than they ued to be.

If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England
