Saw 'Role Models' last night - really, really poor. Occasional laugh, but you come out feeling dirty...
I'm going to see Australia tonight...

Nah. The Tom Cruz, Hackman Maffia one. Not seen the football one and, from what you both say, won't bother doing.General Mannerheim wrote:Take it your not talking about the Gary Oldman, Charlie Lawson 'The firm'? about the fooball hooligans?

I know what BWFCI is saying about not going to see Hollywood blockbusters but Australia is poor to a degree way way beyond the "well, what did you expect?" level!
Nicole Kidman is implausibly unconvincing... and I'm not just talking about her embarrassing English accent.
If it weren't so long, I would agree with you that it is so bad as to be unmissable. As it is, people should trust us and not surrender three hours of their lives.
(Oh and I'm embarrassed to say that my date did go for the hanky at one point...

I'm gobsmacked at the discovery that we agree on anything.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:Feck me, you were so right.William the White wrote:Look forward to exchanging views on it. Surely you could use the same review you gave role models for Australia?mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:Saw 'Role Models' last night - really, really poor. Occasional laugh, but you come out feeling dirty...
I'm going to see Australia tonight...

FWIW i saw Role Models on Saturday. Thought it was good for what it was, which is just an infantile comedy with loose morals. Still, made me laugh which I guess says more about me than anything else.
Faults with it...the woman who ran the Sturdy Wings centre just got more annoying as it went on; the continued gay innuendos were funny to begin with but cringeworthy the 234395838th time. Also, the ending was pap.
But it was made to make me laugh, and it did that, so can't really complain to much.

I agree with you on the Sturdy Wings woman... she really started to grate, didn't she? I agree, there were a few laughs in there, but it was generally pretty poor and you're right - the ending was awful.
Perhaps you can help me out - what was that bit with the sleeping pills all about?!

Yeah...it was a shame cos she wasn't bad to begin with, but by the end I wanted her to choke on that hot dog (wtf was that about anyway?!)mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:It's true, I have watched some rubbish this last week!Verbal wrote:Surely you could use the same review you gave role models for Australia?mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:Saw 'Role Models' last night - really, really poor. And no idea on the sleeping pills...I would've thought they would bewould be the last thing to reach for in that situation.
