Presumably these only 'work' from a certain angle, like the pavement ones?

Your guess is as good as mine. All I know is that they're pretty impressive to me. Since they're painted on flat walls of buildings I suppose it's a case of "what you see is what you get".

Apparently the wave one was good enough to convince the fire brigade to come down to 'rescue' some of the kiddies in front of the tidal wave mural. Hopefully this speaks more volumes of the works themselves (they are incredible) rather than the Hawaiiian fire brigade.

This guy is English and utterly amazing. He works in chalks. Have a look at some of his masterpieces at: http://motherpie.typepad.com/motherpie/

Click on "creates pieces" on the page.

That car having a smash with a golf buggy he's chalked on the background is superb!

Which, in Ireland, is something of a minor miracle. Must have had a tent.

There's one of these in England, down south somewhere. Lyme Regis area I think, I've got a picture of it somewhere but I can't remember where about it was from. Well anyway its not just a building scene but also animals which surround the whole building. In fact the building is actually falling down, but I think it has now become a type of 'site of special interest' due to it.
