I never for one second thought that I'd ever fall in love with this album as much as I have.
I've been listening to Kruder and Dorfmeister, Clubroot, Moderat and Django Reinhardt. Not a proper band amongst them.
Also been delving into this selection: http://14tracks.com/selections/67-14_tr ... _by_takoma
All washed down with a glass of Co-op Beaujolais.

the new Burnt by the Sun is streaming! http://www.heartofdarkness.info/
Absolutely crisp and phenomenal.
*PLUG* My act is supporting 'em at the Star and Garter in October. Which means I don't have to pay the £7 entrance. Double Bonus.![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
Going to see Pearl Jam on Monday so I've been listening to PLENTY of Grunge.![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

At last, a bonus from AOL. Don't know if you can get this link but it's great. Just type in an artist and the station keeps on playing similar stuff. Been doing Pentangle, Fairport convention, Steeleye Span etc all morning. One thing about folk music, it has some terrific musicians.

Purists would give you mean glares and mutter words like 'revivalists' and the like for saying that lot are folk! Mercifully, I'm not one of them.TANGODANCER wrote:At last, a bonus from AOL. Bert Jansch's solo stuff is well worth checking out, as is John Renbourne (both Pentangle).
Also, Sandy Denny's solo LPs are sensational!

Glasvegas by...Glasvegas. Have avoided for a LONG time now, because I wanted to avoid the typical NME hype, which makes everything an anticlimax. Had a sit down and a listen. They have only got one sound, but I like it. Some filler, but pretty strong effort. Gutted I turned down the chance to see them play a tiny gig in Paris now ![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
Also on Humbug , which has only had one listen but I think I may just have detected the subtle production work of Mr Homme.

In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

I haven't heard them yet. But feel free. A tuneless c*nt is a tuneless c*nt whether he's greek or martian.
