The most upsetting thing in the article is probably the slur that Bolton is in GM and not Lancashire though

To be fair, it's probably safer that your 7 year old daughter is in a class with a supervisor indoors than roaming around the streets on a bikeGary the Enfield wrote:It's sh*t exercise.

Sad but true
I agree with the sentiment though

I don't want my daughter to be 'toned' which is what will happen here. Their bones aren't fully formed yet and strain on the arms and legs can lead to problems later in life. They're not designed to be able to lift their own bodyweight yet.Anton Fingers wrote:To be fair, it's probably safer that your 7 year old daughter is in a class with a supervisor indoors than roaming around the streets on a bikeGary the Enfield wrote:It's sh*t exercise.

General fitness and a healthy diet will do just fine.

I'm not trying to be obstinate, nor did I start this thread intending to defend this, but would you not let your kids do gymnastics then? Similar sort of exercise surely?Gary the Enfield wrote:I don't want my daughter to be 'toned' which is what will happen here. Not really. My daughter goes to gymnastics. She doesn't suspend herself by her arms and legs for minutes at a time. She vaults horses and balances on beams.Anton Fingers wrote:I'm not trying to be obstinate, nor did I start this thread intending to defend this, but would you not let your kids do gymnastics then? And pole dancing isn't about suspending oneself for minutes at a time either. Independent moves are practisedGary the Enfield wrote:Not really. My daughter goes to gymnastics. You wouldn't mind if I taught your children how to do so would you? There is absolutely nothing Nazi about it, there is a big difference between goosestepping for fun and fitness and goosestepping your way into Poland.

You can't start too young on excercise and dance etc. We had dancing lessons at six as part of our school curiculum and there are kids dance and gymnastic clubs everywhere.. It's the association with sleazy clubs and pole-dancing in later life that's really a cause for concern I'd say. Mind you, Farnworth isn't a leading light in the "slim and toned" universe right now. Now chip and beefburger scoffing.....

Reckon there's any way at all this thread could be swung round to end up with our resident Arsenal fan posting more photos up?

She's probably drowning her sorrows with a Spanish wine.

Thems their kids.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind

I think it's a great idea. They could join two gyms - one near home and one near school for example. Imagine how effective that would be.Lofthouse Lower wrote:If they are fatties then it's good exercise
I think it's got legs this one.
