You say that, theres a guy now doing bird in California for doing just that with phenomenally expensive wines. He was revered as a pseudo-celebrity of the wine world, until someone from one of the wineries rumbled him. Apparently it was because he stuck a label on a magnum* (1.5l) - but they'd created a different label for the magnums that year. Not only that, but they only released a few hundred, all to restaurants, and all could be accounted for.

*Magnums of top wineries from top years can fetch far in excess of the price of 750ml bottles, as they can age for much longer. Greedy bastard, if he'd just stuck to normal bottles.

There you go then, learn from his mistakes. Don't get greedy.

And if that fails,

"They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do... to create a new strain of super-wine in a half an hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. "Bernard Black, he's mad," they'd say. "He's insane. He's dangerous." Well I'll show them! I'll show them all!"

I hadn't realised that revolutionary anarcho-socialists now stockpile their own Christmas fizz... what is the world coming to?

There is a semen shortage? Got to be a job opportunity there.

We bought the Christmas crate from Naked Wines. 21 Bottles of wine, 1 champagne, 1 Cava and 1 Prosecco.

£124 and they're all rated highly on the website. They also threw in an Aerator worth £30 and 2 crystal glasses worth £20 a pop for nowt..

Happy days!

Just makes me feel like my one and only focus in life is keeping my head balanced on my shoulders because if I'm not careful, it will fall off.

I could do a bottle of Jack Daniels and not feel half as bad as I do off wine.

So it's less a case of you not liking IT, but IT not liking you? I can sink a couple of bottles before it starts properly affecting me, whereas spirits... I only have to look at the bottle and I'm going home with Lisa Riley

See, I didn't bother with it this year. However, I had £100 in my account so I've spent it (and a bit more) on posh stuff like 2009 Borolo and whatnot.

I've got £140 stashed and decided against the Christmas case, even though it was a bargain I din't fancy the fizzy stuff, or the freebies. Might do the same as you Bruce.
Keep getting emails from some bloke called Rowan saying how guilty he feels about having my cash AND my wine. Time to put the poor b#std out of his misery, he must be spending hours writing me these emails.
