Re: The Christmas thread
Our do tonight. A few of us are meeting up at the hotel first though for Champagne and Schnapps. Oh yes. Oh, and I've had my working class roots questioned for suggesting that wild strawberries go well with Champagne - look, they just do.
May the bridges I burn light your way

Best Christmas song ever....for me.bobo the clown wrote:Only yesterday I was congratulating myself on having survived to the 12th of December without hearing Noddy Holder's Christmas song.
Last night the local Round Table came past ours dragging a, rankly rather poor, tableau with a Santa on it and that song was belting out.
Then today I caught a little off the radio. I managed to divert my attention to window cleaning and so pushed on & past it.
Not bad though.
Now, don't get me wrong though. I generally have time for the force of nature that is Noddy Holder. He was very much 'of my time' but that fckg song has ruled the roost for about 40 years now & frankly it should be put to bed, once & for all.

You must be joking Bobo. Slade get half a million a year in royalties from that record. It was on the Wright Show only this week.bobo the clown wrote:Only yesterday I was congratulating myself on having survived to the 12th of December without hearing Noddy Holder's Christmas song.

Re: The Christmas thread
You could buy something related, like a weekend bag or summat and put a card in that saying something about going away.General Mannerheim wrote:Booked a weekend away for the mrs Xmas present - how does one present this as a gift!?

Re: The Christmas thread
pack her suitcase and then wrap that up. make sure the 'how to get there' instructions are on the outside tho
Re: The Christmas thread
it wouldn't have to be a new one - just a symbolic one - presumably she's got one anyway! buy her a going away bag from a charity shop.. it's just summat to open and a symbol of the real thing...General Mannerheim wrote:That's a lovely idea. But I've spent enough ta!

Ha winner!
I'm getting similar for the girlf. Gonna put it in a Tiffany bag she has had knocking about. Get her all excited then bang. No jewellery.

You could get her a travel toothbrush and mini tube of toothpaste and put it in with them. Needn't cost much, the main thing it is related to the going away thing.

Risky strategy that. Getting a girl to think diamonds and then getting something they might see as inferior...you're brave!Prufrock wrote:Ha winner!
