Re: the Photo thread
I've been using an earlier model of the BenQ Senseye for some years now, TANGO, and have been more than happy with it. I doubt that you'll be disappointed.

Re: the Photo thread
Wasn't sure whether to put these on the holiday thread, or this thread. Nothing special about the quality of these photos (in fact they're pretty rubbish). This is more about the content.
The Hopefuls went to Cyprus on holiday recently and at Mrs H's insistence, we went to 'Turtle bay' to see if we could see some turtles who apparently use the beach to lay their eggs. Well, needless to say we didn't see any turtles, but I did notice something remarkable about the headland at the far side of the bay. Nothing particular noticeable in the first photo, but the 2nd photo shows more what you see with the naked eye.
If I didn't know any better, I'd swear this photo had been photo shopped, but trust me, I haven't edited a single pixel. Is it a dog, a dragon, or something else
See what I mean.....?

^ It's quite clearly a sheep. A stone sheep, but a sheep nonetheless.

I was in Paphos first week of August and saw all kinds of fantastical creatures. Usually at about 5am.

That's the sort of mess hippies leave behind when they depart. Tossers.thebish wrote:Glastonbury Abbey - or, what's left of it!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Valle Crucis is probably mine. It requires a certain amount of imagination but kind of meets you halfway.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:^ Fountains is my favourite. Abbeywise, ruins thereof...

Looked it up, not been there... I shall add to the list. My missus has pointed out that the last time we went Rievaulx I'd stated I thought it was better than Fountains..Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Never heard of it, I'll look it up tonight when I've got stable wifiBruce Rioja wrote:Valle Crucis is probably mine. I don't remember saying that, but it is in my top 2.
My third fave is Newstead: Not much abbey but the subsequent history makes up for lack of structure, especially Bosun's monument.

A couple of photos from our recent holiday in the Maldives...

Absolutely my favourite place on earth.

It was a resort that doesn't allow young kids. Anyway, the sharks and rays are far more interesting than buckets and spadesthebish wrote:no bucket and spade kiosk??

you can't build a sand castle with a shark!
and with no sandcastles - what's the point of a beach!

I noticed that boom in the first photo. Is that anti-shark?Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:It was a resort that doesn't allow young kids. Anyway, the sharks and rays are far more interesting than buckets and spadesthebish wrote:no bucket and spade kiosk??

The sharks are harmless and you get lots of them, particularly the young ones, inside the sea walls practising catching little fish. Never seen one succeed yet! The sea walls are there to protect against erosion, what with rising sea levels and all that.clapton is god wrote:I noticed that boom in the first photo. Beaches aren't just for sandcastles, they're for watching crabs too

Re: the Photo thread
I'd recommend it. It's possible to stay at a decent resort on all inclusive for 800 quid each plus flights. You can easily pay that for far worse destinations, although you can pay much much more!malcd1 wrote:Very jealous AT. Looks fantastic.
