Thought the Go Team were excellent. I loved the way that they kept switching instruments. How do the two drummers manage to drum perfectly in sync?
Practice. And earphones.
But they didn't even start the track together. One guy was playing the guitar and then suddenly jumped on one of the drum kits halfway through without even missing a beat!

No, and that is quite admirable when musicians are able to do that (although you could call it showing off). I stand by my comment though - they could easily practice it, and both drummers ended the song wearing big earphones, presumably to hear a backing or click track. Not to decry it, just to explain...
Oh and FWIW I think that, while I couldn't listen to a full album, The Go! Team are a happy and energetic bunch aiming for good times. Perfect festival fodder, then.

It's nearly time again. Anyone (else) on here going? I'll be doing the usual Wednesday-Monday stint, working on the Q Glastonbury Daily paper. Thankfully, Mrs Barnet managed to get a ticket and I'll have finished work by Sunday, which is her 40th...

Sadly not - though I imagine that will be where I celebrate my graduation next year (hopefully...). Instead I will be in Brixton at an indie night out with other people pretending they're not jealous about missing glastonbury.

Make sure you graduate and get there - they're due a year off after that.

Who you gonna miss? Unprecedented levels of coverage on BBC1/2/3/4/HD/redbutton, although of course the bands are only part of the pleasure.

The Boss, Kasabian, Dizzee Rascal (who is actually phenomenal live...). Hopefully there will be coverage of Bombay Bicycle Club's set, really do like them. I also live next to the Indian takeaway after which they were named :)

Really? I thought it started in Clapham South, near where I used to live...

Will be checking out Springsteen (or Bryce Tingtong as I now can't help calling him - cheers, Stuart Maconie) plus Crosby Stills & Nash, Neil Young, Specials, Madness, Doves, Jarvis, Blur, Rolf and Tap...

Big decisions with overlaps: Springsteen or Doves? Neil Young or Jarvis Cocker?

Balham. It started in Balham. Not Clapham. Pah...

Near DuCane Court, where I used to live. With comedian Arthur Smith.

Not going to Glastonbury, but I am seeing Neil Young on Saturday, in Hyde Park. So that'll be nice.

Missed it again! I'd have loved to have spent the paper wedding anniversary there, but the funds weren't available at the time (off to Moseley Folk Festival in September though - if you're in the Midlands, check it out).

Next year... definately :|

Wish I was going. Line-up looks great this year too and looking forward to the BBC coverage this weekend.

I'd go Doves and Jarvis who is brilliant live. Blur would be great too. I saw Kasabian a couple of weeks back, and am doing again on Thursday, so maybe a weekend off them might do me good.

I lived at the other end of Nightingale Lane, so I only know the one next to the Nightingale.

Springsteen over Doves DSB. How many times will you get to see Springsteen?

Have you seen the price of his concerts?

I am, I will allow, leaning that way. I've already seen Doves, but will never pay so much as a tenner to watch Mr Bluecollar. It would seem rude not to pop by the Pyramid to see what the fuss is about.

The original was, of course, in C19th Bombay, but the first restaurant in London was the Clapham one on Nightingale Lane. See http://www.thebombaybicycleclub.co.uk/story.html

My buddy has seen him over 30 times - so it's probably not too rare an occurence. Last time I went to see him, I jacked it after an hour, bored. (Oh and I'd waited about 15 years to get a ticket to see him - Since Roundhey in 1984ish....)

His last tour I believe the "cheap tickets" were 80 quid!

That may be the concert Mrs B and few other young scallies bunked into via the removal of some badly-placed bolts on the perimeter fence. Apparently Harvey Goldberg had a go about it on stage.

I have a lot of respect for Bruce Springsteen as a poet and a showman, but I can't say I adore his somewhat monotonous records and, unless made jolly by imbibation, I too may tire after an hour. But I'll still go, I think, to see the show.

I did take your comments as based on cost rather than regularity. Apparently he's done five albums in a decade and toured them all. Hardest-working man in etc etc.
