I went to that Brew Dog bar last night in Manchester. Cool vibe but was disappointed by their selection of 'classic games'. It's pricey too. £4.25 for a pint of Punk IPA(which I tried for the first time and was delicious). Oh and there seems to be a small beer festival in Albert Square for a few weeks. Didn't have any food while I was there but it smelt good.

had a pint of Otter Bitter today - in the Manor Inn Galmpton - near the banks of the river Dart...

(along with baguette & chips)

I have to say - it was sheer smooth nectar in a pint-pot!!!

What baguette filling? You know you have to provide the full story. And what was the barmaid like?

it was some kind of prawn-chilli concoction and was accompanied by some weeds and what was described as a "pinch" of chips!

barmaid - perky and attentive!

Not had some for ages but last night had a few pints of March Haigh from t'Riverhead in Marsden. If you've been on t'ale trail over this way you might have had it.
It's top notch but I've got a soggy head today.

Well, down our way, Adnams is dead, long live Doom Bar. After 8 years of service no-one buys enough of it any more to justify it bein gon all the time. So it's gone and Doom Bar is on. Now I'm a big fan of the stuff, but we've noticed it doesn't keep its head very long at all. It doesn't taste 'flat', it just goes! Current guest is the blinding Reverend James. Good stuff.

Having been trying 'St Peter's ruby red' for a while, my wife bought me a 'St Peter's cream stout'. If you like your stout, look no further. And at 6.5% it has a bit of a kick.

Careful there, don't forget to call it 'Barnstormer'! They got lawsuited out of the name last year (despite using it for ages) by that godawful white cider company...

General plea for information (my phone won't tell me because it thinks I'm under 18, and work computer won't let me because it's work's computer, and my copy of "Good Beer Guide" is just over a decade old), so where are the good pubs* in SW Cornwall? The closer to Porthcurno/Porthgwarra the better.

* real ale, tiny snugs, olde worlde real fires, witch trials on Saturday nights; that sort of thing.

No worries, always a pleasure to help an alehead! If you end up in Penzance it recommends the Admiral Benbow, Crown Inn or First and Last. Seems like an unsurprisingly large amount of St Austell and Sharps, but they all supposedly have a few guests...
