I'm beginning to think you really do like Coyle and want him to stay as long as possible
I honestly did think today that the USA would do enough.

Though part of it was thinking if I predict on here I'm bound to be wrong....

Haha. So fecking glad.

Shows how crucial momentum is. Poulter came from 3 down with 5 to play to win yesterday. That was the spark. Unbelievable.

Great win outright and what a comeback.

Fantastic stuff to do that in the old US of A.

Well we weren't for two days. We didn't show up, apart from the odd one or two.

Today every single player, played to their ability.

If the Americans were only that little bit more self confident and arrogant, then this would have been more enjoyable.

USA! USA! errrrrrrrrr. Not today thank you.
Hope is what keeps us going.

every single one of them - feckin magic.
even the guys who got beat scrapped for everything. Hansen and McDowell were how many down at one point? yet they still kept the US points off the board for as long as possible.
Rose on the 17th turning point for me

I've heard the word "awesome" used to describe all sorts of daft things. This was awesome.

No one man won it, the team did with Kaymers putt as important as the first win. Chuffed for Molinari's half because playing at the back must be a real strain. High point of it all was Justin Rose snatching victory from under Phil Micklesens's nose. Monster putt on seventeen and a brilliant pressure one on the last. Captain Jose was phenomenal, Poulter amd McIlroy immense under pressure.

Gentleman act of the day was Micklesen sweeping his hat off and giving Rose a big grin and a real handshake. Well done that man. The European support was as fantastice as the three days of golf. Sheer delight, couldn't take my eyes off it. I only Seve could have been here to see it. :oyea: :oyea: :oyea:

Daft part of it all; the stupid, inane questions the commentators ask.

Europe tends to do well in the pairs events.
^ it was all Monty's fault!!!
Just wait - there are three more sessions. The corollary is that the US tends to do well in the singles. So a hex on both their houses.
See, bish, the hex worked so congratulate me. An absolutely astonishing day of golf. My hat is of to Big Phil one up with three to play, applauding Rose on 16 and 17 for pressure putts that tied the match and then applauding the win. He was a gentleman out there. Unlike his nameless compatriot who made Westwood putt a gimme then didn't even take his hat off to shake hands. I can forgive Furyk because he was in complete shock.

I was annoyed with my namesake who came on NBC early with four matches on the course and we had an early 3-1 lead. They asked his take and he said something along the lines of "It is hard for a winning captain to criticize his successor, but I think he made serious mistakes. He sent out too many good players early. There was great disunion in the Euro dressing room because he sat the Italian and Lawrie down in the foursomes, blah blah blah." He has some crow to eat. He said much the same yesterday about how bad we were. A few of us were bad but it was mostly excellent play from the Americans. I guess they got too cocky with the big lead. Old Rory arriving with minutes to spare was amusing in the morning, but it suddenly became critical later on - we could have lost the cup because he thought he was on Eastern Daylight Time (or whatever happened).

An unforgetable day and I guess we should congratulate both sides. Davis Love was also a gentleman in defeat.

Did smile when reading how much Tiger's concession hit the bookies. Ouch.

Didn't see a cat in hells chance of us winning this Sunday, even when we had the top 5 all blue and in the 19th, still thought we'd not have enough down the bottom end to get a draw (let alone a win)...Absolutley delighted.

I still can't believe it. :pissed:

Also, major kudos to those who are teeing it up this week at the European Tour's Links Championship at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingbarns. Only D. Johnson from the Americans made the trip while the European-based players Kaymer, Hanson and Lawrie are also in action. McIlroy is missing it for the first time in his professional career. Shame for the event.
