Not looking good for the no.2 suspect. Seems he decided to hide in a boat, but unfortunately for him it was in a back yard and not in water making an escape rather difficult. Multiple shots fired and guess it is now but must wait and see. Thought they would want to take him alive if at all possible, but from reports so far I'm not sure if that was the case. The drama may be nearing an end though.

It's amazing how SKY news (and other 24 hr News broadcasters) can regurgitate the same storyline and make it sound as "Breaking News" yet there is no 'new' news.

Think thats the same everywhere. ANyway Breaking News: suspect apprehended and presently alive.Salford Trotter wrote:It's amazing how SKY news (and other 24 hr News broadcasters) can regurgitate the same storyline and make it sound as "Breaking News" yet there is no 'new' news.
Re: Boston Marathon hit by explosions
Having just listened to the news conference concerning the arrest of the suspect this evening, then listening to the questions asked by the reporters after the speakers were finished, it's no wonder there is so much crap reporting these days. Seems their questions are prepared beforehand and then they can't be bothered listening to what was reported in the conference itself.

Would they not be better following the parents? After all they named the child.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:It's like any right minded Roman whose Cognomen was Brutus would think twice about giving the nomen of Iunius to their child after the assassination of Caesar. It's shocking, I know, but I'd be pissed off if the CIA didn't track any who had entered the USA called Osama born after 9/11

Well, not yet anyway !!
32 states do have it.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Not sure if it is relevant where the crime took place. If he is tried for terrorism that I believe comes under federal jurisdiction, and a death penalty is in effect.jaffka wrote:Do they have the death penalty in New England?seanworth wrote:Not looking good for the no.2 suspect. Re: Boston Marathon hit by explosions
He is in a unstable condition at the moment in hospital from what I have heard. U.S gov will not be happy if they do not et to send somebody down for it so will be desperately trying to keep him alive I would have thought.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.
Re: Boston Marathon hit by explosions
The main reason they would want him alive is to learn what exactly was the motive behind the bombings, and if anyone else was behind it.bwfcdan94 wrote:He is in a unstable condition at the moment in hospital from what I have heard. Also Dan I believe he is in serious condition. I have not heard anything in regards to being in unstable condition although you might be right. Any source regarding this development?

Good thing he didn't become president. In ordinary cases, a suspect is told by police he has the right to remain silent and he has the right to a lawyer.
But this is not an ordinary case, say U.S. Sens. John McCain and Lindsey Graham.
They urged that Tsarnaev be held as an "enemy combatant," a designation that allows a suspect to be questioned without a lawyer and without being informed of his Miranda rights.

You sure? I just seem to remember talk that 9/11 suspects would be tried in New York and wouldn't face the death penalty. Iive no doubt you're in a position to answer, what with you being American (blame Montyseanworth wrote:Not sure if it is relevant where the crime took place. I don't know the answer to this. I'm not sure terrorism is a crime per se. Federal prosecutions have some limitations - crimes aimed at the US. Timothy McVeigh was federally prosecuted and executed because federal employees were killed. I suspect the reason McCain wants him declared an enemy combatant is that it would take it out of state hands. But as noted I'm not sure on this one. Doubtless we will find out.
