That is a very dangerous line to go down. Do we not let anyone in or out of the country from now on for fear of letting a terrorist in?

Tens of millions of people visit the UK from abroad every year, from all over the world, I'd argue that any potential risk of a terrorist or general nutcase is FAR greater from general travel than it is from say 10 thousand refugees.

The risk of say a Chinese or Thai or whatever person coming into the country carrying a deadly strain of some sort of animal flu and wiping out millions of UK citizens in the process is even higher. But we don't, won't and can't stop that risk. We just have to live with it.

To be fair, whilst walking around 2 university campuses (Campii??) yesterday, I saw hundreds of young Chinese students, a large proportion of whom were wearing surgical face masks. I'd like to think they were keeping their germs to themselves but suspect they see English towns as the epicentre of urban pollution. Clearly, they're not from Beijing then.

I've even seen them wearing them in remote parts of Scandinavia, Bob. I guess that they just do elsewhere what they're advised to do at home.

^ aye - my thoughts exactly... I suspect they may well come from Beijing - and therefore wearing them is a habit and feels normal...

It started as a Japanese thing and spread to China in the 70s. It's all about not catching germs from the masses, and (in the original Japanese way) of not spreading said germs if one has already been contaminated. A mixture of OCD, community spirit, banzainess, and disease control.

I see in the news today that the migrant hordes [I checked that carefully in my Dictionary of English PC Terms - it's OK] have diverted themselves to Croatia and are now crossing into Hungary from there. This confused me a little as I thought that Hungary had just built a bloody big fence to stop this precise phenomenon. I'm somewhat surprised by the results of a little digging into the background of this story - i.e. Hungary have built an anti-migrant fence (at a cost of ten billion forints), but only along the tiny portion of border with Serbia!!!
That's plain bats. That's like, errr (struggling for an analogy), errr, that's like the English building a fence to keep the Welsh out but only along the border at Hereford... if you want to keep the Welsh out you'd need a border along the Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire borders along with a string of gunboats up the Bristol Channel and the Dee. Otherwise what's the bloody point?

Or a line across the border with Germany to stop them marching into France!

"What appears", "probably", "possibly", "Aren't necessarily",

Lot of hearsay and "probably" proves nothing either way.. I'm sure they're just a bunch of peaceful protesters who were set upon by a horrible bunch of coppers and I'm sure their flag of choice, has nothing.. NOTHING to do with any faction of any Islamic terrorist organisation.

There's as much chance that you're wrong about this as the "right-wing sites" could be

Still no evidence of fabrication of the "far right paying some of the refugees to be filmed turning stuff down"

I'm sure the video evidence of people saying they "only want safety", but yet don't want to stay in safe, neutral, peaceful, non-conflict (albeit less affluent) European countries was filmed by a bunch of Far Right activists paying them to say it, too

The link for "what appears" is to this http://www.jdl-uk.org/2012/05/muslim-ri ... y-100.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, an article dated in 2012, with that picture.

Seems conclusive to me!

Yes, but the fact that the article also alludes to the fact that they've nothing whatsoever to do with Isis.. Which I reckon is "probably" bollocks..

It also has absolutely nothing to do with "far right paying some of the refugees to be filmed turning stuff down" - Which is the bit I've disputed as being bollocks...

Linking that article is like me saying Salt & Vinegar crisps are nicer than Prawn Cocktail, then sending you a story about the biscuit in a twix could be made using the tit milk of a breastfeeding refugee

No, it isn't.

The point I was making is there's right-wingers making up bollocks to discredit the refugees. You came back arguing that's left-wing propaganda. Whilst I can't disprove it on that point (which is not the same as you having proven it) as it was reported simply as "reports", I can show you another example of what is definitely right wing lies used to discredit refugees.

I have no idea whether the people pictured having anything to do with ISIS, but I do know for sure that they aren't, as reported, refugees, because the picture had already been published in 2012.

Had you argued that Salt & Vinegar are nicer than prawn Cocktail you'd have had not a peep from me, because that's self-evidently and objerctively true.
