Good going still having the same phone after four years clappers. I only got my incumbent about eight months ago and has been dropped so often it looks like it's about ten years old. If it makes it to two it'll be a miracle.

That is because none of you are Apple wankers. Having and liking an iPhone does not make you a wanker. Queuing for 4 days just to say I was first and falling for hype does.

The very very worst of Apple wankers, and this is most of you who have one I guarantee, is referring to it not as your 'phone' but as your 'iphone' at all times. Not only in, say, a comparison of different models where it's important to refer specifically to the model, no. In every day speech, 'I can't find my iphone', 'How do I turn down the volume on my iphone?'. It's all Apple stuff. 'I've got some new speakers for my Macbook'. F*ck off. I've never heard anyone say, for example, 'I can't find my Galaxy S'. PHONE PHONE PHONE!

Come the revolution, the firing squad running list will read: Rapists, Nonces, United fans, Murderers, People Who Say Iphone when they mean phone.

Prufrock - I've had many different mobile phones over the years from a variety of manufacturers. Each of them has been referred to as either 'my mobile' or 'my phone', including my current one and its predecessor, both of which have been I phones. I think you should direct your ire at your own generation, young man, prior to popping into you Mitsubishi that I see's parked next to my horse! :fingers:

You're doing all right then! Perfectly normal people get one and start doing it! Maybe it's just them as no how to work it

Yeah but it integrated seamlessly with the water. Didn't require anything else other than to drop it in. Even a complete technophobe could grasp it....

Ugh, it's phone upgrade time. Don't wanna! Tempted to keep the same phone coz apparently I can pay less. It's slowing down though and so may need a new one. WOuld really like to keep one with an actual keypad! Bloody trouch screen gimmicks. Got a Blackberry atm which I actually really like, but I'm not convinced they're going to be around to fix it if a new one went bust. Can't find any others apart from a half-hearted Nokia effort which looks like it's aimed at Grandparents.

For all my slagging off of Apple folk, I actually quite like iphones, and the 4 is pretty cheap, but it doesn't have a mini sd card slot (the racists wankers).

Thoughts, people who are into all this shit?

yeah - i saw u said it is getting slow - but presumably there is a reason for that (phones don't get arthritis!) - and a solution that doesn't mean a new phone! does it?? what is it that is slower?

it'd be worth checking if you have missed any firmware updates

it'd also be worth backing up your data - taking it off the phone - reformatting your memory card - and/or restoring the phone factory settings - then re-installing the data you need. (do you really need all those photos and LOLcat videos on there?) the more clutter you accumulate - the slower it will be at processing it...

it'd also be worth checking if it can take a bigger memory card..

that's if you really do want to keep your old phone...

I've got a big memory card in, that's not the problem. I just don't think the cheapo smartphones are desinged to last very long. It just takes aaaages to do simple things like open messages. That hard restart where you take the battery out and it reboots is required more and more often. I'm not particularly bothered about getting a new one or keeping it, just the least hassle. Atm that might be going through the pain of getting a new 'un.

Pru - is there a reason why you need a big micro SD card in your phone? Sensible phones come with at least 32gb of space these days, which is more than enough to hold lots of photos and music. Take a look at the slightly older HTC One X or X+. You should be able to pick one up cheaper than an iPhone 4, it has more space, faster processor and decent memory. You can get the latest Sense 5 and Jelly Bean.

I find the lack of micro sd card slots in apple products quite annoying. Not only do they not have them, they're smug enough to tell you that you don't need one because of 'clouds'. So I bought a samsung tablet instead.

So I can have all my music on.

I'm not bothered about games! Just texts, phone, internet and music. Will have a look at the HTC
