What are you watching tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Maybe not an Oscar, but that's only because they don't normally give them out to mainstream action films. His performance deserved it, I reckon.

I can't remember who else was up that year, but yeah, if the Oscars were less 'snobby' I agree. Could say the same about those I mentioned too like.

I agree that Bale is Batman...until he puts the mask on. That Batman voice still makes me laugh.

LF have sent me Hotel Rwanda. Any good? 8.2 on the IMDB-ometer, I note.

Good film. I watched it as part of a project i did for uni (film, international relations and representations of the Rwandan genocide) and it is a good film. Nick Nolte is a bit miscast for me, though. A few other moments jar but gets its point across. The fact that i can't remember anything striking from it probably speaks for itself, though. Or shows how bad my memory is.

Not the best film about that particularly gnarly moment in history. Not by a long stretch. But still decent.

Don't let LLS's short term memory problems put you off, Bruce.

This is a good film, tense, scary, uplifting.

You ever seen the film 100 Days WtW? Covers the same period. Best film about it imo

I haven't, thanks for the tip. Will put it on the LF list. Is it drama or documentary?

It's a drama. British/Rwandan joint production and the first feature film to be made about the events, I believe. There is a documentary out there too based on a UN general's memoirs called Shake Hands with the Devil by Peter Raymont if you want another perspective.

It's obviously worth trying but not sure if LF will have it. The only copy I've been able to find was the one in our university library. Obviously there has to be others out there but tracking them down seems easier said than done!

I'll have a scour around the interwebs to see if i can find anything.

A Royal Affair is on DVD now, you should add that if you haven't sen it.

Hotel Rwanda is good, but it's one of half a dozen similar films about those genocidal african maniacs - they all shake me to the bone tho.

WtW wrote a good review of Seven Psychopaths a bit back. Should have taken heed because its taken me till tonight to sit and watch it and only because the lady didnt fancy anything else I had. Friggin ace.

What put me off was the trailer, I saw it a handful of times in the cinema, it was hideous and got worse every time I saw it. But then it came out to quite universal acclaim so it went on the list, all be it low down on it.

I can't think of another film that was so good but had a trailer that made it look so terrible!?

Nor, to be fair, would you get it back even had you enjoyed it.

So, nothing lost then.
