In Asda last night, selecting deodarant, I couldn't help noticing this stuff. L'oreal (men experts, apparently) 48 hour deodorant. Which minging, unwashed feck requires a deodorant to last for that long?

Obviously it's a bit :/ to say so but I'm always oddly fascinated when stuff like this happens. It's all a bit capery and filmy.

Is this a good idea or am I doomed to fail/die?

I've been avoiding getting hurt on a rugby pitch on and off for years by playing on the wing.

This could very well be filed in the currently overflowing 'stupid ideas' folder but I'm quite keen. I've contacted a club south of the river who do free training so will aim to pop along next week.

That's a big ask - you need your flankers to be very fit and to be putting their bodies on the line repeatedly.

Maybe you could play centre if you have defended in a line playing RL and your hands are ok.

Oh of course - I'm nowhere near fit at the moment and I'd probably get snapped in half by other back rows! But it's something to aim for.

My mate last night said something about playing centre because of that. To be honest I just want to get back into competitive team sports. Football just isn't doing it for me atm and it's alwas fun to try something different.

Why don't you do touch rugby? Less likely to be maimed, but you still do the running, dodging malarkey. Was always folk playing it in Regent's Park of an evening. If you fancy a new sport I can put you in touch with people to play softball. Good fun to play and a very social sport. It is played all across London and there are teams for all levels.

At work yesterday I called at an address where we'd been chasing some lass up who has been avoiding us. TV & lights on but no-one would come to the door. I'm just about to drive off when I see a little girl peeping round the curtains. Assuming mum was avoiding us but thinking a small child could be left on her own, I go back to the door. After knocking for a while the door is opened and 3 kids are there.

Eldest one, who I took to be about 11 or 12 says "Sorry, we didnt hear you. My mums not in" I asked who was looking after them and she tells me "My auntie but she's in the bath". Giving it up as a bad job, I left a calling card but was feeling distinctly uncomfortable. I thought it would be over reacting to call Social Services but decided to do a few checks today to be on the safe side.

A neighbour beat me to it. Police were alerted there today and found mums been going out in early hours on the pop and leaving kids in house all day with no food.

I'm peed off that 3 kids have been left like that and peed off that I didn't follow my gut instinct and report it straight away

Let's be glad this has been caught what seems like early on.

The wee dog I found wandering and lost last week has been claimed by it's owners. Don't know the circumstances but presumably it just got out and wandered off. Vets sent it to Leigh Dogs Home from where it was claimed pretty quickly. So glad for all concerned.

Another parent has emailed to ask if i would go back. I said 'no thanks!' Apparently she, who has no idea about the rules of netball, is attempting to teach the kids along with the headmaster.
